+1 for STM Dux
I use it at the hospital and it's great for when I use the iPad to write stuff down when taking histories or in tutorials.

I did a review/recommendation for it but maybe people thought I worked for STM or got it on the condition I did a review for it. I felt ripped off paying $69.95 but damn it is a good product. No issues with the slight space so that the pencil moves along it's length.

It is pretty bulky would be my one gripe besides the price. Arm fatigues carrying it around all day. Beats a bag full of medical textbooks.

The Dux and the Dux Plus have a pencil holder made from a rubbery material. My pencil doesn't shift, but even if it did the material is cushiony. It appears from the photos that the STM Atlas cover has a hard plastic pencil holder which could damage the tip if the pencil shifted. One of the reasons I went with the Dux.

You can shake my atlas up and down and my pencil doesn't move. People have been too hyper critical of that aspect of the case

So the Atlas is a good choice for people who don't need the extra protection of the Dux and Dux Plus.

I'm glad I discovered this thread with some good options on how to store my new apple pencil.... I've been that person carrying it around in the box it came in! lol!!!

I'd say so. There are days I carry just my iPP to labs or days I only have one class (grad school) and I never once have worried about hurting it. I definitly don't think the atlas is rugged or offers much protection from drops and stuff. But for a gentle user/carrier it's amazing

Southern Dad -

Let's do some math...

iPad Pro nearly $1000.

Apple Pencil = $100.

A simple sleeve like the one below that provides protection for the iPad Pro
AND a safe secure place for the Apple Pencil built right in = $29.

No brainer. :)

They've got a bunch of other models if you want something
a bit more high end, but this basic sleeve does everything
you're looking for. It even has pockets for some other
accessories. Good luck!

Is there room in this sleeve for the small pencil case I purchased for my Pro? I bought a form fitting case for the Pro itself, but would love this for the case to go in to.

This is a great case for the iPad Pro! I'm a teacher and use my iPad Pro in a team taught class. I have a modified pencil (with cap holder) and the rubbery pencil holder on this case holds it very securely..and this is with the cap holder on the pencil. The cover has the sleep/wake feature and folds into a secure triangle to prop up the iPad. Frankly, its been perfect for my daily use. It also has a professional look.
