iPad Pro Apple Pencil Order Status Thread

I ordered in Aus within the first 30 minutes that the online store went live:

Ditto. I have an estimate of 12/22-12/24. But at least I will have it to take out of town in January.
 
*first world problem... I'm frustrated, when I returned my Apple Care+ the day I picked up the iPP, the employee said he refunded the money to my Credit Card but instead sent an Apple gift Card in my email... luckily I found the email randomly while searching for a different email, otherwise that would have been 100 bucks lost. The main reason I'm frustrated is I intended to use the money at Best Buy for the Apple Pencil, now I have to buy through Apple. Ughhh. But I don't want to wait until December for the Pencil... ahhhh maaaaaannnn. :(

Best Buy listed Apple Pencil as coming soon. The problem is how soon?

I do know that. Apple let Foxconn to handle the manufacturing stuff. Still, I know Apple Pencil is fantastic, but it is not that hard produce in large amounts.
 
If the delay in getting the pencil is an attempt to create buzz/excitement so people will buy it, it's getting old. Standing in line overnight for early iPhones; standing in line to get an appointment to buy an iPhone; preordering for pickup of iPads; ordering iPads from multiple locations and all the other games we have gone through to try and "score" the new toy are no longer buzz worthy. They are bad management which results in retail employees being put on the spot and customers pissed.

No pencils available in any of Shanghai's five locations since the first day's meager supply. Advice, "order online" which of course I had already done. Ordered 11-14 - in process. Delivery estimate 12/18-12/24.

I still think it's not intended because without the Pencil and the Keyboard it's just a giant/oversized iPad. Many people will return it.

My opinion is that I don't think the pencil supposed to come out this early I think the accessories for us to come out a little later because the supply is ridiculously low and I don't see any supply-chain manager approving this. It's either that or there is some difficulty producing these pens and they didn't want to probably delay the iPad Pro anymore so there's probably a decision to just release it and hopefully the manufacturing issues will be fixed
 
Just reading some of these and had to make mention that the Apple Pencil is just an accessory, meaning it's a choice.
Not everybody will want one or need one... And you certainly can operate the iPad Pro without one.

At launch, at least, there will be some availability problems - it's Apple and lots of people want it. It hasn't even been a week since release. So, everyone up in arms should just relax a little about an accessory.

Look at the Surface Pro 4... That's been available for awhile now with all the accessories and it's biggest problem?
Battery life.

I'm just saying... You could be stuck with one of those. :)

Just chill out... You'll have more pencil/stylus options that you can shake a stick at soon enough!
 
In Australia. Ordered around 30 minutes after them going live. Processing, estimate 1-2 weeks 19th - 26th November. I expect to see movement this week sometime. Really looking forward to getting it.
 
Anyone know of the Apple Pencil tech is exclusive to Apple only or if you think we will see 3rd party "Pencils" that are technically similar coming out soon?
 
Just checked my status this morning and it has been sent!
Interesting, the carrier is SYNCREON INTERNATIONAL.
Never had them before, never even heard of them!

At a guess I'd say there will be copies. But, as Apple seem to achieve over and over again, the copies will be not as good. I'd imagine there will be noticeable lag or the weight/size of the pencil won't be optimal. Some will probably put buttons on them which you'll soon disable as they will get in the way.

Someone should make a clipper for it though so it can clip onto a shirt pocket or inside jacket pocket.

I am definitely considering returning mine as I want to experience the full iPad pro with keyboard and pencil. By the time they come in I'm out my return window on the iPad Pro.

It's the complete package that is compelling not just a bigger iPad.
