You mean the Pencil 2? I like it too, but it is compatible only with the new iPad Pros and I can't justify paying that much for it. So for now I will stick to this one. Once my 2018 (regular) iPad slows down and becomes unusable then I will evaluate my options on combinations of tablet/pencil.

For now I have a Belkin case for the pencil. It has a storage compartment for the pencil's end when the pencil is recharging. So I store it there.

I wont be buying the new iPP /pencil either. Though bizarrely I actually considered it (just for a moment) but no I’m in the same boat as you. I can’t really justify it so will make do with what I have which is fine.

I have the same case but I use a skin for the pencil and it doesn’t really fit in the Belkin with the skin on. I’ll try using the pencil without the skin but it’s quite slippery.

It is indeed slippery without a skin. I have considered getting one for myself too for the same reason. Sometimes after extensive usage it gets slippery and I have to hold on it even more and this puts a strain on my wrist. Let's just say that just 2 weeks ago I was in a position where I could not use my right hand for anything at all. My wrist was in a bad condition exactly because of extensive usage of the pencil. Now I control my time with it until I have found some skin.

What is your skin if you don't mind sharing?

I purchased the Pencil 2. I do some drawing once in a blue moon and do not use it for handwriting (except for signing documents) as prefer to type. However, it is invaluable to navigate and also use in apps for organising stuff and so forth. Expensive yes, but still essential if to get full use of the IPP. Looking forward to the new form factor and much-improved charging which was my major bugbear with the first gen.

Just something cheap and cheerful from Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07BLPJDVC/ref=twister_B07C8RCH78?_encoding=UTF8&th=1

I’m going to get another one though, I’m going to try and find something a bit more slimmer.

I use mine all the time for web browsing, some games and just all around as sort of a finger replacement on my 10.5 pro. Keeps the screen clean, it’s more accurate and more comfortable for me. Really the only touching I do is to type and even then I will still use the pencil for that sometimes.

This may be a stupid question, but here it goes lol.

I pre ordered the new iPad Pro 11 Inch, will deliver on the 7th. I currently have the 9.7 Inch iPad Pro and never bought the first gen Apple Pencil, so my question is outside of people who draw or will use for Photo Shop, is the Apple Pencil just a waste of money or is it worth getting? I am just not sure on what else if anything its needed/used for.
If you don’t get the pencil or even the keyboard case, I think it’d be best you get a mini 4 or 9.7” model.
