Take the ATI 5870 EyeFinity with 6 Mini Display Ports.... MDP is useful right there.

The standard PC 5870 isn't much "better" with 1 Display Port, 1 Dual-Link DVI, 1 HDMI and 1 VGA.

If anything, the Mac version is better... for me anyway. Since I actually have DP monitors.

There are a number of monitors that use DisplayPort, and there are a lot of GPUs coming out that have multiple mDP ports (it's not MDC, my friend). They're neither useless nor shameful.

Try not to react so emotionally next time - didn't you know what you were spending your money on?

Yes.. you are correct... I have since replaced the machine with a 3.46 12 core, and a pair of 5770s... they work perfectly... ( I bought a 5770 with two dual DVI ports. this combined with the stock 5770 allows me to use my 3 30" displays. frustration gone...)

yes, I was upset about the performance of the MDC dual DVI adaptor, and it bled into my post. my apologies. (Gona have to either quit coffee, or take up Jack Daniels)... maybe both... :)
