To the original poster I have a feeling I know what you are experiencing:

Click on your apple menu.
Pull down to system preferences.
Click on Apple Mouse.
Under "More Gestures" the first option is "swipe between pages".
On "swipe between pages" uncheck this option.

That should fix it.

From an Apple support forum post, try out their suggestion to diagnose the issue:

The same symptoms will occur if the keyboard spacebar is intermittently stuck. You could check for that by starting the keyboard viewer so you know what keys are pressed.

System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard tab > check "Show keyboard & Character Viewers in the menu bar".

Then in the menubar, show keyboard viewer.

You are probably leaning on yer space bar

Trouble is, this is all speculation - until we get any real feedback from the OP with regards to what suggestions from the poster's work, and what doesn't - or indeed any feedback at all - which is positive in nature - this is all a waste of time.

Although I am reluctant to use the word troll - I have this terrible feeling the OP is probably having a good giggle at our expense.

If he is genuine, then he is absolutely shockingly terrible at communicating when he does, and when he doesn't.

I can't make out if this thread is a comedy show or not - Might have to get the popcorn out!

I have used Apple Mac's since 1984. Tech Support has gone downhill so much that for the first time I am suing Apple in Court. I live in Canada. Have others on here experienced suing Apple? Thanks for your input. Has anyone else experienced Apple doing tests only but not actually doing repairs (not just replacing elements)?

For about a year while under Warranty Apple Tech Support and Apple store was unable or unwilling to fix the issue.

I have never experienced such an attitude in 31 years of using Mac computers. After spending hundreds of hours on the phones with Tech Support and 3 trips to the Apple Store Now Apple is refusing to provide tech support, refusing to repair ny MacPro and refusing to replace it.

From personal experience, I complained to Apple about iphone replacements, escalated it to senor advisers, and deliberately filled multiple tickets (yes i did that on purpose) so it will annoy Apple like crazy.... more tickets is more annoying then a follow-up :)

Long story short, i was a thorn in Apple's side, and chasing them up constantly for *7-weeks* straight... Eventually i got a free iPhone...

So in the end,,, the pain u go through is well worth it, and i'd do it again, because customers come first. Apple needs to know there is something a miss sine replacements don't work.

Replacements of any product/failure etc .non-stop is just bad.. It may save *them* money, but what is it doing to the customer ?

And if u do get your mac repaired it will only be *like new* which to me, is not new in box.

You just gotta keep on them, and it'll get sorted. Another thing after you've got Apple confused by multiple tickets, to escalate the whole process, is email Tim cook and explain what happened. :) It may not mean much..... but it will help in the end. Hope u get this fixed. It worked for me,

Using my MacPro became so frustrating and useless (I do a lot of writing) that I was forced to stop using it and buy another MacPro laptop. I am a licensed Amateur Radio Operator and I have built receivers and transmitters and at age 21 I built a television set. Having seen also many hairline cracks in solder on boards I feel there is a crack in one of the logic boards which causes interment meal functioning. I asked the Apple Techs to try exchanging logic boards (even used boards) until the issue stops but they can not do that they said unless their test equipment shows a failure. I understand their process system but nonetheless I am left with an unusable computer.

Like any good mystery, all the clues you need are in the first act. Have you ruled out radio interference?

Okay, I'm kidding myself. No way is it going to be that easy. (although I did experience the same problems with a Mac Pro and a trackpad which would not work well in a certain position in the room close to other hardware.

Do you have any other devices attached to the MacPro? Have you tried disconnecting them all? Having you tried working in a different room? In your system preferences do you have Assistive Devices enabled? If so can you turn it off?

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
Taking Apple to court will depend on the consumer protection laws in your country I would think, but you can take them to the small claims court. Just follow the process.

It is how things are done these days though, many company's havw scripts and processes that must be followed, and the people who make the processes aren't always people who have done the job, and thus the processes are rubbish sometimes.
You are not allowed to exercise thinking outside the box to diagnose faults, that costs time and money that is more important then the customer. So unless the standard tests detect a fault their is no fault.

Perhaps the OP could have an independent Apple repair shop take a look and make an engineers report? That could help in a court case.
Short of emailing or writing to the customer services executive as an official complaint, threatening court action, I'm not sure what you can do if Apple has essentially said go away?

People on here will try and help though, just need some more information from the OP.

To the OP specifically, have u emailed Tim cook ? based on your replies I don't think u have yet.. If u haven't done this, then the rest of the work u are doing is pointless. tcook@apple.com

Having your serial number etc may all be ok, but you've done all that i gather, so time to move on... why keep asking something from Apple themselves if they won't listen ?

If you've had this for over a year, that's unacceptable in all angles for a company... regardless, of any rules Apple makes the user follow.....

Finally, if noting ventures out of all that after a few weeks, then i'd be really surprised... If u detail in the email everything that has happened, i also certain that u will get what u want...... Tim does read emails.

I happen to also have an issue with typing in forums on my new MacPro. I will be typing a post and the page will suddenly scroll to the top. This usually happens when I attempt to highlight a bit of text to copy it. It's very frustrating. It happens on a random basis so it really is hard to diagnose and only happens when I am trying to participate in forums like here or on TMZ. I don't have this issue with the 2008 MacBookPro I'm typing on right now. Same latest OS on both. The difference is the hardware. So maybe people can back up on the "it's because of him" rhetoric. The issue isn't a big deal to me because it only happens during forums and I have other computers but if this was my only computer doing this, it would be really maddening.

EDIT: OK, I was able to recreate it. It happens when I am in a Discus forum and my post is long enough to create a scroll bar within my post. In this case, when I try to click and drag to select text, the entire page jumps to the top. So maybe my issue is different than the OP's.
