Latest Boot Camp Asst Refusing Procedure

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong on my Macbook ?
All went well with original Boot Camp & Windows working perfectly. Latest 1.1 Beta installs in Mac but Boot Camp assistant tells me I cannot partition the drive !! The on screen instructions won't appear when all I want is the latest drivers to burn. It would be wonderful if they gave the drivers out separately. Can anyone help please ? Thanks.

figures. I redo my entire system over the weekend using Parallels which works pretty well except for games. I do this because Boot Camp up til now has blown a big on on the MBP. without reliable suspend the thing is worthless and borderline dangerous if it wakes up in its neoprene skintight case. (Which it has done on multiple occasions. So I went with Parallels and now this. Oh well. I'll redo my system again when I get my 160GB hard drive. Until then I'm Civ IV-less. :(

There is an excellent app that helps with the MacBook Pro power management, it can be found in the onmac.net forums...and it helps with all that.

I have this problem. I'm using a D-link wbr-1310. I'm using WEP encryption. I kept getting the cannot connect error. What I did was go into the wireless options and re-enter my WEP password and connected manually. In the wireless options it says "not connected", but I'm able to get on the net. I don't know what happened, it use to connect manually and say "Connected". It's not a true fix, but it's a workaround until a fix is released.

I'm having a problem that I thought would be fixed by the new drivers. I cannot connect to my d-Link wireless router. It tells me that the connection fails. I can connect to it just fine in the mac os, and I can connect to other routers with windows, but I cannot connect to my dlink router. Anyone had this experience?

How easy is it uninstal windows/delete the partition if you decide that you dont need bootcamp/windows anymore?

You just run the boot camp installer again and tell it to remove the partition.

Anyone know which key is for the print screen function?

FYI, the wireless problem I was having with the D-Link router has somehow fixed itself. It now connects to my network automatically.

Yeah, that's the first thing I tried. The ATI option for TV support poped up when I first open Windows, and I got excited. But still no support yet.

Also, when in Windows, if you do a "show properties" of the C drive, it will lock up. Never had this problem before updating boootcamp.

okay, now we need some people with Mac Pro's to run some Photoshop benchmark tests under Windows so it's native :)

Wonder how much faster it performs compared to Rosetta.

For sure - those who watch the Colbert Report may be familiar with the fiasco that happened after the term "wikiality" (and the fact that the African elephant population has more than trippled in the past 10 years) was coined.

Actually, he says is tripled in six months, not 10 years. I looked it up in Wikipedia...it's a really cool site might want to check it out. :p

From Wikipedia:
He also calls on people to edit wikipedia so it says certain things, such as the elephant population has tripled in six months.

Ok....besides the wireless internet problem (which is now fixed) The keys on my iMac's keyboard are no longer adjusting the brightness levels while under Windows. They worked perfectly fine before the update...also the method that I used to fix the wireless internet driver isn't working for the keyboard which is called "USB human interface device) Does anyone know how to fix this???:(

Ok, I just figured it out, if you disable "Apple Keyboard Support" in the menu bar the brightness keys start to work again. I hope this helps someone (sorry for the double post)

Since installing the update, I'm getting some occasional lockups in XP after logging in. I think it must be related to the driver updates. Not a big deal though since I rarely use XP anyway.

Put the OSX disc you got with the macbook into the drive, reboot holding C

When installation appears, go into top bar menu and choose utilites / disk utility

Run Repair Disk

It will repair, reboot your mac and run bootcamp again, it should now allow you to continue and partition etc...

Boot camp is only "helper" software. The firmware update with bios support was what let you use windows on the mac. However with Mac's with only one internal drive the easiest way to partition your drive is with boot camp.

If you bought a Macintosh after June no firmware update is needed.
