That’s true. The squared notifications are disgusting.
There seems to be a general issue with the rendering of the buttons itself.
Have no hope to see a fix in any of the iOS 17 releases anymore.
Does somebody tried out the iOS 18 beta? Are the squared ones fixed here?

I run the beta on a second test phone but due to the lack of frequent notifications I’m not really able to report a fix here.
Zollotech reported that the squared notifications bug remains in the first developer beta of iOS 18, they fixed the dimming bug but not this one.

Can anyone help me get this on my iPhone 11 Pro with very little storage left? I plan on doing the iOS 18 public beta so decided to hop back on the testing bandwagon.

In another thread I posted, it mentioned to download Xcode. I did that, but I don't see where it lets me update my iPhone. macOS is updated to 14.6pb. I just can't find where it starts the update.

Apple today seeded the first betas of upcoming iOS 17.6 and iPadOS 17.6 updates to public beta testers, with the betas coming a few days after the initial iOS and iPadOS 17.6 developer betas.

Public beta testers can get the beta by opening up the Settings app, going to the Software Update section, tapping on the "Beta Updates" option, and toggling on the iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 Public Beta. Signing up on Apple's beta testing website is required.

The new additions Apple promised for iOS 17 have all been implemented at this point, so it is not clear what will be included in iOS 17.6, and no features were discovered in the developer beta.

With Apple now shifting its focus to iOS 18, it is likely that iOS 17.6 will include bug fixes and other under-the-hood improvements.

Apple has also seeded the first public betas of upcoming watchOS 10.6 and tvOS 17.6 updates.

These are the most boring posts anywhere on the internet. "Apple seeds...zzzzzzzzz." The breathless attention to Apple's every move is so over the top. I like Apple, and I like to keep up on things from a bit of a distance. I use a ton of major Apple products. But Apple seeding beta's? Story after story. Oy.

What kind of bugs? Not going to protect Apple here but also annoyed by people who claiming for huge „bugs“ the whole time. An OS will never be 100% perfect.
You will neither find this with iOS 18, 19.2, 20.4 or whatever.
Airplay volume randomly changes, blasting music through my speakers sometimes.... Graphical errors on my lock screen when music is playing so the text is on top of each other... Airpods sometimes don't connect at all and have to manually go into bluetooth and connect them.... Apple music stations sometimes don't work (discovery is now completely broken and still waiting on apple engineers to help).... apple music playlists sometimes don't update.... apple notes sometimes don't update or randomly jump around a page. And the list goes on. Just so many little things that happen that get annoying after a while even though I've reported them all.

iOS 17.6 and succeeding updates could just be security fixes and under the hood improvements... Very little chance of new features since majority of focus is on iOS 18...
That's unlikely, really. If it were just security fixes and under the hood improvements it would be 17.5.2. They don't follow that rule universally, but they do for iOS. However, the changes may be limited to individual apps (Music and News would be obvious for small but significant improvements) and changes necessary for the EU to the App Store and related functionality.

I have a different issue. Every morning my iphone requires the unlock code while my ipad only needs the code after a reboot.
Went to Settings --> General --> Shut Down

It immediately locks the iPhone so even though I have the Assistive Touch enabled, long pressing home to force clear the RAM no longer works... The last time I tested this was in iOS 16.7 so I'm not sure if it still worked in iOS 17.5.1

I forgot: Face ID has gotten worse and worse. I have a success rate of less than 50% when unlocking my phone. Constantly entering the unlock code because my face wasn’t recognized. I got so fed up that I have now permanently disabled it. In the Apple store they acknowledged the problem, but couldn't find anything.
I have never had an issue with Face ID unless the phone’s camera is not facing towards me

So just skip the posts. I never install Betas, but I do read about them.

Yeah, it's crazy how much a website that's all about Apple reports every time Apple does something.

Since I upgraded to 17.6 pb1 I can't connect to 5G networks (in my country that would be NSA 5G).
With "5G Auto" the phone keeps glued to 4G. With "5G On" it looses data connectivity (no 4G/5G symbol next to the signal bars).
Tried to restart, airplane mode, etc - to no avail. Don't want to "reset network settings" as I'd lose my wifi passwords :-(

Is this an isolated case? Anyone has 5G issues with 17.6pb1?

[Update: Reset Network Settings done. No change. 5G doesn't connect.]

Plug in your iPhone to your Mac and try to update it using the Finder.

That didn't work. Even though I was signed up for the public beta, it showed 17.5.1 as the most up to date version.

I got it installed, though. I restart of the MacBook and iPhone fixed the issue I was having.
