This BETTER resolve the Airport issue.

Amen. I'm sick of it just dropping my connection when it feels bored. This is with an AEB by the way!. Part of the reason i haven't fully switched to Leopard yet. Tiger doesn't have this issue

Woohoo!

You know what this means....

New Mac Mini tomorrow!

Hickman

Actually, with an OS update on a Monday, some sort of hardware update tomorrow isn't outside of the realm of possibility.

And the Mac Mini is certainly due.

Or, more likely, MobileMe is officially launching tomorrow.

(It's a Tuesday AND the beginning of the month. All sorts of goodness could theoretically happen tomorrow).

I just want to know if the .Mac Globe in Sys Prefs has been switched over to the Mobile Me icon yet.

Its still .Mac. iDisk icon remains the same as well, hasn't changed to what it was in the videos. Mail doesn't recognise the @me.com address either for Auto setup asks me for POP settings.

Also if the Adobe CS3 issue was resolved for sure.....

The answer to that would be NO.

I'm guessing, and also hoping iPhone 2.0, and/or MobileMe

I guess stability can = mobile ME features that're a little steep to subscribe to...

The cheapest exchange email I could find online was $6 a month ($72 a year) with way less storage. Just that alone for $99 is a deal to me - never mind the other tie ins (photo galleries, bookmark syncing, back up, iDisk etc).

you should really compile apache and php yourself. my test environment hasn't changed since I compiled mine...

I do build both. The last two leopard updates have resulted in me rebuilding both. In hind-sight, I think it was just apache that needed to be rebuilt (couldn't load libphp5.so due to arch differences), but it's still a nice surprise to see that you've gotta troubleshoot your webserver after an OS upgrade.

30 minute download? This makes both me and my Powerbook sad :( Hopefully all things go smoothly as they usually do.

welcome! - apple has officially stated that the iphone 2.0 software will be available July 11th, but good news is july 11 is soon!

Thanks, I'm still going to hold my breath for tomorrow. All the stars seem to be lined up, but I won't jump off a bridge if it doesn't come out till the 11th.

why wouldn't you update your mac?

Anyone who relies on their Mac to run their business would be stupid to update quickly. Some updates break software or hardware compatibitility.

You then have to wait for those vendors to update their products which may take some weeks to complete. So it makes sense to wait a few weeks and see if there are any reported problems on the internet before updating.

Seeing as how .3 only came out a few weeks ago I'm sure there are lots of people who haven't upgraded to it yet. Usually there's more than a month between these things. This one just happened to come quickly.

are you referring to the reconnection to wifi after waking from sleep? it usually takes a few attempts at loading a page before i get a connection back.

Well, there's that issue too. Pretty ghetto problem for a computer over $2K running all it's own software, hardware and networking.

My Touch has been unable to use the wifi signal from my Mac ever since the last OS update. Not sure why....it was working prior to that update.

You can get Mobile Me/.Mac at Amazon for $69. That is $5.75/month. Well worth it, IMO.

You can even find it cheaper on eBay as only the code is what is needed so an old .Mac version number on the box is irrelevant. But I'd rather just go to Amazon and have it done with.

ah i c, I guess being new to mac, and apple I didn't know there were that many software issues when updates come out. Makes me a little nervous to buy my first mac. I'm still in the no-funds stage of my life, but hopefully in the next few years I'll get my first MacBook. Just trying to learn as much as I can about them.

Yeah, I'll be keeping an eye on the MobileMe pre-order I have then. Still says shipping Mid-July at the moment, hopefully get updated if things have gone better than expected.

It hasn't changed. At least not for me, I'm not a .Mac subscriber so I don't know if that has any effect.

One of those people who think they're being oh so much smarter and more cunning than the rest of us by not updating because as we all know every Apple update leads to armageddon and total meltdown. Let them live with their delusions.
