As long as this stays in the appstore, I don't mind.
With regards to the TV+lower tier, I don't mind as well (as long as they don't jack up the price of the regular subscription.).
If some people want to have access to the shows at a lower price, more power to them.

They will jack up the prices though, thats always how it goes

I feel like either Apple Finance or Tim Cook are forgetting that their whole thing is 'Privacy', which is quite literally the antithesis of targeted ads that require a lack of it to be effective

True, but the problem is when ads start taking over more and more things until you can't ignore them anymore and they severely decrease user experience.
I dont pay for Youtube premium and lord has it really gotten bad with the amount of ads now. Super long ads you cant skip and they appear so frequently. Used to be my main source of entertainment consumption but now I second guess what I want to watch based on how annoying I feel it will be

Why? I get there's a profitability angle here but it doesn't line up with Apple's core values.

Tim Cook needs to go.
core values 🤣

Their core values are $$$$$ followed by ££££ and €€€€€

This is their big AI push, forget features, its all about making them money by pretending to not be google but secretly doing the same thing.

But... But... But... "PRIVACY". Many cynics thought Apple's ATT was designed to cripple FBook. It did that, and left Apple as the sole entity who could max ad revenues using your iDevice data. Well played Tim -- shareholders are ecstatic.

Tracking Ads are far worse then the old phone illegal taping. My systems blocked 26,000 tracking Ads in one week. These Ads need to be illegal. Apple privacy is really no better than any of the other actors. Different sheep in the same clothing.

I cant wait for the Fortnite Ads! Will they even be allowed? Is Tim Sweeney's head going to explode?

Jokes on them, I don’t scroll through the App Store like it’s a social media feed. Ads in there mean nothing to me.

Wake up call to the folks who thinks this company is above Google, Meta, Microsoft etc.

This is going to be the biggest use for AI. User tracking/surveillance and behavioral analysis. A party for gov't and big business.

That is their core value. You are the product. Ads in news app. App Store. Coming soon to atv.
