How that extra screen work out on MacBook Pros? They are earphones, how about work on extending the battery life, and making them sound and fit better. To me, that would be much more fruitful than slapping a tiny screen on the case.

Wonder how much the Ottebox case will cost for this?

(Guess the Ghost of Jobs has demanded a new temple to be worshiped in, and this is part of the $$$$ stream to make that happen)

Stop solving "problems" that aren't problems. If I'm using AirPods I pretty much have to keep my phone or watch on me... this is pointless. Like needing a Bluetooth toothbrush....

This is what we need. Introducing eMac Nano.

While Apple designs (and patents) tons of things that never see the light of day (at least in the way we might speculate), I can also see where they want to find new ways to add utility to these devices (e.g., AirPods case, HomePod, etc.)

Combine that with Apple, at its size, having (potentially) unprecedented access to components at prices others don't which suddenly opens up new possibilities for products and product features.

What I mean by this is that—while great product companies like Apple focus from the customer back to the technology—this doesn't preclude thinking about what new, inexpensive, smaller, etc. technologies might enable that was never possible before. For example: Very small, high-resolution, inexpensive, touch screen displays might enable new products (or functionality) that no one even considered before. So now we can imagine how Apple would consider their use in something like the AirPods case, HomePod, and more.

P.S. This also obviously applies to Apple's access to and use of ever more specialized and customized silicon. They have so many tiny little chips (the A* and M* series get all the press) doing so many little specialized things its incredible. Did you know, for example, that the 10-year-old Apple Digital AV Adapter actually has a little ARM-based CPU and runs a tiny little OS just to handle video conversion to/from HDMI?
