I've been trying to locate a Fog Sport Band for my 42mm Apple Watch for a month now and have not been able to find it. Everywhere that sells the Watch has it listed as discontinued or out of stock. Even Apple isn't stocking it anymore.

Question is, what bands were there that have been put out to pasture by Apple? More importantly, if they need to be replaced for warranty reasons, what is Apple going to replace them with?

One other odd band thing I noticed today.

On Apple.com, the 42mm Space Black link bracelet is showing as "Sold Out". So are these things "limited editions"? Buy early or miss out?

I don't recall there ever being a Fog sport band. Do you have a link to any?

I've seen them on bestbuy.com. A neutral grey color. I was considering one myself.

Looked up the band. Never even knew there was a Fog colour (though I rarely look at sport bands)

It seems it's a 38mm only colour option now.

Yeah I looked it up on google and through the Apple Store app. Seems it's 38mm only.

A few sport bands have been discontinued - the original Blue, Fog, Walnut, and Vintage Rose to name some from memory.

Availability varies around the world and after being discontinued Apple appears to let Watch stock sell through (which is different to what they do for every other product I can think of).

A lot of straps are temporarily out of stock, for example the Space Black Link Bracelet in the US, and the Silver Link Bracelet in the UK, and almost all colours of the Classic Buckle, and these should return eventually, as they have similarly gone out of stock, and then returned, in the past.

I highly recommend the midnight blue and gray classic leather bands.

It's odd that they would discontinue any bands, especially the Sport bands.

One thought comes to mind, is that they are trying to reduce inventory because the Watch 2 bands will not be compatible with the original watch bands. Otherwise why not keep selling them so that there will already many options for Watch 2 purchasers to chose from? Even if they aren't all available in the store, at least make them available online.

My thoughts are that the production lines for the bands are not particularly extensive, and colours have to be produced in batches, rather than all colours at once.

When the yellow band was launched, it went out of stock almost instantly and took more than two months to return to stock. Now, it's unavailable again. Signalling perhaps and inflexible production line?

"Sold out" doesn't mean discontinued. I don't know why some here are saying they're discontinued.
Because the original Blue, Fog, Walnut, and Vintage Rose have been discontinued according to Apple sales reps who were instructed to take them off display, and third party resellers.

Assuming they're telling the truth, as we've gotten too many BS from those so-called Apple specialists. Some of these colors are still available for ordering online (Walnut, 38mm Fog, etc.).

But completely missing as an option to select for 42mm. Can't select 42mm and just see "sold out", it's just completely missing for some colours but not for 38mm. This is from the Apple Store app.

Yes, that's true. So we can't say whether or not it's actually discontinued. I'd call it discontinued if a particular color is no longer present for both 38mm and 48mm.

I ordered one of the last 5 remaining 42mm fog sports bands on walmarts website a few weeks ago. Days later I checked and they were finally sold out.

The only other website, after scouring for hours, that potentially had stock was B&H Photos website. Check there.

On the other hand, I also own the Moko Fog 42mm band. While it's a perfect doppelgänger, you can spot it's flaws. However, for its price and availability, it's the only way now to have a fog 42mm band. It's actually nearly perfect. Highly suggest settling for that.

I own a 42mm fog band. It's a nice light gray color. Sorta close to Stone. Except that Stone is a "warmer" color with a hint of brown in it. I remember the picture Apple put on their website made Fog look light blue. But it isn't. Just pure gray.

Not entirely sure whether they are limited or not. Here in Canada they are readily available on Apple's website.

Interesting. Thanks for that.

Edit: So I checked the Canadian store and the 42mm space black link band is showing as "Sold Out" there also. Guess I'm out of luck. (The 38mm space black is available in Canada, BTW, same as in the US)

My wife walked into an Apple Store and got me a 42mm Space Blank Link Bracelet just over a week ago. So there is stock out there. I imagine it's quite popular on the store and containing more than 100 parts must be very time consuming to manufacture and assemble in high volume.
