I like my Studio display a lot but I find it uncomfortable to wear on a plane and the battery life is poor.

you aren't trying hard enough! easy peasy. who needs an APV?!

I notice that they are starting to promote the “lay back and put screens on the ceiling” approach fairly heavily. Which makes sense because that’s almost certainly by far the most comfortable and possibly only way to actually get through a movie with that Facehugger on there.

Really hope they’ve already gotten the memo to ditch that front facing display. Would solve so many problems, and it doesn’t currently appear to be solving any problems, and it is causing a lot of them.

Well if this replaces a tv, monitor and a game console, then the price is justified!

Mmmmmmmm debatable. I don’t think this one does replace those things. All of those things have been refined over decades and are inherently multi-user.

To say that it replaces them means those things that you already have you would feel comfortable simply collecting dust or maybe not ever buying another one of. If you honestly feel like this first generation Vision Pro would cause those things to become obsolete for you, then yeah. I don’t think it’s there yet.

And I don’t think that’s unfair to say, because the iPhone really did completely replace the personal computer for millions of people. People still have computers, but a lot of adults don’t, and a lot of kids have never even seen a traditional one outside of school.

I’m not saying this will never happen, but I don’t think we’re close yet. Maybe ten years. Took the iPhone a while too.

Once it gets a 6G modem in the 2030s then I'll jump right in.

Wait for the 6GS it’ll be way faster

So an unemployed dude living in his girlfriend's apartment has an AppleVision Pro. Right.

It’s hers, of course. She’s getting ready for work.

People got very upset last time I called this a dystopian nightmare, so I will avoid doing so here.

World’s already kind of a dystopian nightmare. People might as well have blinders on when they’re lost in their phones. They already act like this, that ship has sailed. Just wait until we’re getting direct brain interfaces. Cause it’s coming.

Thought it was a decent ad. They’re saying even tech illiterates can get used to it, with just fingers and eye tracking to control it.

The thing is, wouldn’t the poor guy be better off with an iPad?

One of the best ad Apple made in a long time. Reminds me of Steve Jobs era iPad ads.

This is the saddest video I've seen from Apple so far. I wish this was like a prank or something, a parody. This is what Apple wants people to be?

Steve Jobs era was an era of Apple getting people closer together. The best example is Facetime. How does this remind you of that era? It's literally making people growing apart OK. Horrible.

I would say eventually movies shot for Vision Pro will put the user in that environment; immersive, not viewed on a flat screen.

So based on this ad, VisionPro is meant for dysfunctional couples who want to avoid addressing the issues in their relationship by hiding behind their gadgets. Got it!
Damn. I wasn't really looking to buy one but you may have just sold me on it. Marketing should have leaned more into that approach.

"Apple Vision Pro. Because without it, you may have to talk to / spend time with your real family."

"Apple Vision Pro is so simple to navigate using your eyes, hands, and voice," says Apple. "It's like you already know how to use it."

Apple also: Designs a half-hour introductory session so people don’t use it wrong.
