iStat was updated with M1 support almost immediately. No idea why you claim it wasn't.
Edit: Ah you are talking about the App Store version. This one has always been kind of unusable but that's Apple's fault.
Wait...am I missing something here? My iStat still has nothing for sensors section at all. I finally gave up on them updating it for my 14" MBP and just launch this nifty MX Power Gadget when I want to see info.

Does your iStat show sensors on the new Macbook Pros?

EDIT: I WAS missing something! Version 6.60 was showing nothing, but I found 6.61 on their website and installed that; now I have sensors! But I wonder why the apps build in "check for updates" never saw or updated to this new version. Crazy.

And somehow other app makers can make it work with App Store.

I did run iStat for a long time on Intel, it was just the developers inability to make the M1 version work that made me look elsewhere.

It is a useful tool for macrumours AS owners to make posts whining and moaning about why their brand new AS is throttling.
Never seen my Max throttle or even get hot under load, but every Intel MacBook Pro I owned (roughly 8 of them since 2007, including the latest 16” i9) would throttle at the drop of a hat.

Anyone know how to see the log?

There is a setting to turn on "Log to File" which is on the Desktop by default. But nothing appears?

The graphics only cover last five minutes, so log essential for longer.

Thanks

Cancel this....worked it out, not very intuitive.

1. Launch MxPG
2. Click on dots at top right of MxPG screen. Red box appears round three dots. Click "Log to file" Logging starts, but log not visible at this point.
3. Carry out tests
4. Click on dots at top right of MxPG screen again, uncheck "Log to file". Red box disappears. Logging stops, and log appears on desktop
5. Quit MxPG

I was missing out step 4...ie just closing MxPG at end of test and expecting log to appear.
