Gotta say, it seems to me iOS 13.4 was optimized for Apple's $129 Trackpad 2 or the upcoming Magic Keyboard with traditional mouse support as an afterthought.

Getting a bunch of spurious actions while using the mouse most annoying being the notification center always popping up when I just want to get to the Safari menu bar. Any tips on how to close the notifications without moving the mouse pointer all the way down the screen?

Also, how do I close/exit the slide over app (not just hide it)? Been trying to flick it similar to when I use my fingers but that just moves the slide over window to split view.

I got the Trackpad 2 today after using the MX Anywhere 2S mouse and I'd have to agree with you - the trackpad works much better and smoother. Hopefully, Apple cleans up their act on this functionality because right now it is something of a mess. Who would have thought that this is such cutting edge technology? /s

I disabled the animations straight off - didn't care for them.

2. You mean move the time scale at the bottom? With AssistiveTouch on and and Button 2 mapped to Secondary Click, I could move the time scale setting.

Can you please explain this more in detail ? How to achieve this ? Could not do it when I tried it ? Maybe I did not understand the trick you were saying.

Ditto here as well. My mouse works fine with my new 2020 iPad Pro 11 inch. We need more information to the OP

Exactly! Nobody's able to help you if you aren't specific.

Got this tip over on Reddit and it works -

It is difficult to get the right motion to bring the slide over app out from the edge. Sometimes it only wants to peek out a bit, then go back in.

Here is what seems to work for me, though I am not good at it yet:
  1. Push the mouse to the side of the display, then stop.
  2. Push again and you will see the slide over app peek out a bit.
  3. Continue pushing and the slide over app will appear just as if you were using your finger to slide it into position.
  4. To get rid of the slide over app, do the same procedure.
You have to use two motions, mouse to the screen limit, stop, then try to push it farther.

Wow ! man this is cool ! This seems to be working. My biggest worry is now getting answered. Thanks to you man ! You are the best !! ;)

Only have one mouse in the house so put in new batteries & tried it on my updated iPad Pro.
My Mighty Mouse bought in 2006 works well. Managed to have a bit of fun even though we are locked down at home in New Zealand

You need to find either a USB-C Hub with USB 2.0 port or use a USB-C to USB-A adapter which I'm using at the moment. The reason for the USB 2.0 port instead of USB 3.0 is that USB 3.0 may interfere with Logitech 2.4GHz signal.

So to resolve one problem get into another problem of finding a USB-C Hub or an Adapter. I dont even have either of these.

....did they stab you in the back with an Apple Pencil?

You tell me what should be the answer to that ? If they have not released a Pencil 3 ? What do you think the answer to that should be ?

It seems to work hit or miss, trying to right click on the little red ball indicator of current time on the time slider bar. So hit or miss that I'd say to heck with it and just use my finger. Seems to be a YouTube app thing - I just got the Trackpad 2 and I couldn't do it at all with the Trackpad.

So you are saying the dragging of Video in YouTube to skip forward or to take it backwards is not working even on the Magic Trackpad 2 ?

I think a better way to put it is that it isn't working for me, a trackpad neophyte. Maybe someone else with more extensive experience can weigh in. (Have to laugh at myself - I'm a retired S/W Systems Engineer who started back in 1971 so I have near 50 years experience. But I've never really liked trackpads so I call myself a neophyte with them. I bought this one as I have the time and desire to play with it, not out of need.)

Also there is one more thing that is not working with Mouse and YouTube on the iPad and that is You cannot also drag the YouTube Video to minimize it and then slide it to close the video, just a normal YouTube Feature which you can do with your fingers, which was pretty much working with a Mouse before the 13.4 update. is it working for you ?

Like not entirely closing YouTube APP but just that particular Video.

No, can't seem to it with either the mouse or trackpad.

Also couple of more irritants, when in Mail and when you want to delete some mails (Altogether) and when you click edit on the top and try to select multiple emails to delete them altogether even that is not working either.

On the YouTube front, you might want to follow this thread over on Reddit -

Edit: I think the answer is use YouTube in a browser until they update the app. Browser site works quite well with a mouse.

But what about the other issue which the OP mentioned which even I am facing of not able to select multiple mails at a time to collectively select them and delete them, using Mouse ?

I had my mouse stop working on me as well. Asus ROG Strix Carry.

Upon updating the scroll wheel no longer worked. Selecting and highlighting text also gave me many problems. I bought the mouse mainly for my iPad and was upset at first, but after thinking I figured a trackpad would work better for the ipad due to gestures. So I went out the next day and bought the magic trackpad 2 and haven't had any problems since.

Does seem like apple are making you buy their Magic Mouse/trackpad and soon their magic keyboard as many 3rd party keyboards or pads are not working...average tech guy did a good video on this recently.
