Gosh these are selling like rectangular hot cakes!

Surprising the lines

Didn't expect that.

Doesn't look too bad compared to past launches. That line might go through in 20 minutes

What you don't see in this photograph is that after the 'end' of the line there is a large break because of a residential building. After this there is still more line.

Santa Monica, California (3rd Street) had all three 3G models in stock at 8:30 PM. No line, no wait. Apple cases and camera kits sold out, though.

Lined up at Topanga Mall in the San Fernando Valley at 4:40pm. At 5:30pm, before I even moved halfway up the line, all the 16 and 64 gb iPads were sold out. Left and called up the Apple store in Thousand Oaks, all they had were 32 gb left and was told they'd be gone before I got there.

Anyone know when these stores usually restock? If I have to wait a week, I might as well order online.

I was in that line. I was about 10 people short of getting the 64 GB. I stayed in line though cause I heard a rumor that they were taking reservation lists if you waited in line. So when I got to the front and they said they were out, they put me on a list that will then call me when the new shipment comes in and I have 24 hours to claim the device.

Did you see the actress who got to skip the line for her 32 gb?

Day 2, salt lake city apple store, about 40th in line. Maybe 20 behind me. No 16 or 32 models in the store. They are going to print money with these...

All the stores in Maryland seem to be sold out. Towson sold out this morning (Sat) and Columbia and Annapolis both sold out yesterday. I called those three stores to find out. The person in the Annapolis store told me the Bethesda stores sold out as well.

5pm - Called nearby Apple Store from home, and I was told there was a huge line.

7pm - Called back and was told there was no longer a line, and only a few 3G 64gb left, which is exactly what I'd been waiting for all this time.

7:20 - Walked out of the Apple Store with a swanky 3G 64gb

7:30 - Began unleashing joy

That sucks, do you know who she was? I have a few friends who are actors and they wouldn't pull **** like that.

I was in the back, around the corner before the line started moving. Because of the post in this thread about 3rd Street, I went to Santa Monica a little after 10 this morning. They had all three models in stock and I walked out with a 64 gig after 10 mins.

I got the third to last available 3g iPad at the Pentagon City store in Arlington VA last night. I arrived after work at 6:55 and there were two lines still with maybe 20 people or less in the 3g line. They handed out cards to those in line for the iPads they still had available and there were some people waiting in line behind us in case anyone changed their mind. They told us they only had a few 3gs left and they were all 64s. I was undecided on 32 or 64 (but leaning toward 64) so that was fine with me! I had been worried earlier when I saw a post here that the 16s were already sold out at this store, so I was happy to get one!

The wait was kind of long considering there were so few people in line and even fewer iPads left to sell to us, and once I got inside around 7:45 it only took less than 5 minutes to check out. So I'm not sure what was slowing down the process. They were also letting in people from the non-3g line for other products and since we had the cards assuring us there was an iPad available, I was not stressed! And the Apple salespeople (as always in my experience) were very nice.

So all of the 3gs were gone before 8 PM and the 64s were the last ones to go.

My friend said it was Nia Long http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000505/

I couldn't really tell though.

What time did you go to 3rd street? I should have got up early today, but felt like sleeping in.

I was at Mayfair Mall in WI yesterday at 4:00 (trying to exchange my 3G...long story) and there wasn't a single person in line. So, I'm a little surprised to hear about these long lines and sell-outs.

Memphis TN

The Germantown Apple store in East Memphis haven't even received 3G ipads and have no idea when they will. They said you can come into store and leave details and when they do arrive you'll have 2 days to pick one up.

I was in the Buffalo, NY Apple store (Galleria Mall) about 2 hours ago and picked up a 32G - 3G model no problem. They said they still had a good stock of them. Now I just have to sell my 16G WiFi model......

Surprisingly, I just stopped in the store and they're all sold out of every model. They must have had a busy night after 5.

Was too tired after a long day at work here in the Tysons Virginia area to make a stop by the Apple Store there to see if they had any this evening. My thread IIRC seemed to indicate they were out as of last night as well.

Very different situation than my experience with the iPhone 1G rollout... went by the Tysons Apple Store the next day to just look at it. And they had a ready supply of both models of the iPhone still for sale.

Can't wait to see the sales numbers for yesterday and this weekend of the 3G iPad :)

I was at the store here in Colorado Springs, talking to one of the sales people. He said all the 3G models were sold out within 30 minutes yesterday, got more in today and were sold out before noon.

I was only looking for a case for the 3G I bought at the MacSuperstore, where there was no line, and no wait. But then again, I put mine on a wait list before they came out. They still had a few when I left, but they said they were all already spoken for. They weren't expecting more in until the end of the week I think.

I've also heard that both of the Best Buys here are sold out. I didn't bother to call or visit to find out though. I already have mine, so why bother?

Was just at the 5th Ave store in NYC. They have 32gb and 64gb 3G at the moment, and 16gb and 64gb Wifi models.

Has anyone in the Tampa area bought an iPad 3G recently from the Apple Store at International Plaza? Probably going to swing by there tomorrow before going to work but wonder if I should shoot by when they open.

Update for Salt Lake City, UT Apple Store: Sold out of all 3G models.

I was in line during launch and they sold out of 16GB's within 15 minutes. An employee told me he was certain they would get a new shipment the next day because "they don't mess around." Never happened. I called today and they had sold out of everything. Luckily I'll have one reserved as soon as they get more in. I'll have to pre-order next time.:apple:

I left the Valley at about 9:30, got there a little after 10 am.

Been playing with it on and off throughout the day. It's a cool device. I feel like posting a mini-review but I don't wanna hijack this thread.

I'd go to the Fashion Island, Newport Beach store. They keep a ton of stock. They had plenty of every version of the WiFi iPad on April 3 in the afternoon. Give 'em a call.
