Yeah I read that adhesive part - nope nope nope. lol.

Yeah, I agree - I think it was cuz the store was closing - helped them wanting to get us out of there. :( Oh well. We'll make an apt at the one we usually go to (1 hour away) and hope they can fix it when my wife goes back.

Hah, my wife's business/school trip is to Portland :)
:) I just moved here a month ago, and I love it. I lived in Chicago previously, so the weather, mountains, ocean, and political culture have been a breath of fresh air (literally!).

i'd email the genius (if they supplied that info on the worksheet) and/or call the store and speak to a manager and tell them what's going on with the phone. maybe they'll end up replacing it since you've experienced more issues after the battery change.

Can't she just go to an Apple Store near where she is going for a business trip? Does she not have a spare time when she's over there? If there is one, I"m sure they can look into it and they can replace it if needs be. Just a suggestion.

She's hitting the Apple Store 1 hour away from our house as it is close to her university. But yeah, that's definitely an option. Problem is, from last night to now, her phone shuts off if she makes a call, gets a call, sends a text, etc... So it is unusable. For the trip, since she is going with a group, she doesn't have her own transportation - but yeah, good idea especially if she can't do anything at the Apple Store today (no appointments were available :( ).

I'm hoping the Apple Store she is going to now just replaces her phone and maybe refunds battery.

You or her need to be firm with them about fixing it or resolving the issue. Don't hesitate to go to a different store like you say - they're all Apple official stores, not franchises or anything. Let them sort out the "internal" bickering about who is at fault. Given her time crunch, strongly suggest they give her a loaner for her trip.

Well, a happy ending to this story. My wife went to the Victoria Gardens Apple Store (in Rancho Cucamonga, CA) and told them what happened at 2:20pm. They said that they could squeeze us in at 4:30pm. At 4:31pm sharp a super nice Apple Genius named Josh asked us to come on back to the back table.

I told him exactly what happened how we had terrible battery life, Apple said our battery was green at the other store, so we just decided to pay for a battery last night and on our way to the car the phone rebooted and half the backlight went out.

He said how he really wanted to take a look inside, but once he saw our file and how we had AppleCare+ he said: "I want to give you peace of mind." Went in the back and came back with a brand new phone. While setting it up he said he couldn't believe what the other Apple Store did.

He also said that they aren't supposed to replace batteries if it shows up green.

In less than 6 minutes we were out the door with a brand new iPhone for my wife for $0. I didn't get a refund on the battery but oh well.

WOW. This store has restored my faith and made up for the horrible experience with two other stores.

And that Apple Genius - Josh. Apple Employees like Josh are a big reason why I will continue to be an Apple customer.

Happy ending! Lessons learned. :)

Great to hear!

Whenever I or one of my friends have an issue with an apple rep being stingy, we usually end up going to another location and it gets resolved.

I've had a couple of crappy reps, but I've also had a couple of awesome ones who you could tell wanted to get the problem resolved. It's those gems that make me stick with apple!

Consider it a brand new iPhone for $80 in this case. Was it a 6s+ or a 7+ ?

Exactly! :) I'm not at all sad about the $80, I just wished it had gone to the store that treated us nicely. Other than that, yep, I'm very very very thankful to the Victoria Gardens store for getting us in even though we didn't have an appointment and sending us on our way in less than 6 minutes with a brand new iPhone 6s+.

My wife is very happy with the 6s+ because we use audio jacks all the time (I have an older car). We were planning on keeping these for awhile anyway.

Yep, we are both very happy :D. --- Wife is going to board her plane to Portland here in less than an hour (dropped her off at airport this morning).

Am so glad they did the right thing. Apple has alway treated me very well, but then again, I have never had an issue like this. It does make me feel good that Apple takes care of their customers.

Have a great weekend.
