EDIT: nevermind

info for all who see nothing new ...there is nothing new , they only did want to make the waiting more exiting for you :D

instead of getting my hopes up im just going to say the first week of may or sometime around there, i dont think it will come in April.

a question to u guys, once the imac is announced on the apple website, how soon are u guys going to buy it?

I think once they announce it i will go and buy it in the apple store in the first week or something

Wouldn't a refresh/update such as this normally be announced at an event?

I'm still new and mostly lurk here, gaining as much knowledge and insight as possible. From my so-far limited Mac experience and understanding it seems to me thats haw the mainstream products have been announced in the past.

Not for the small refreshes. The macbook pros that refreshed in February just appeared after the site went down (much like last night).

When something big happens, they'll have a press event. But just making the line a bit faster typically only results in a stealth change on the site.

Next thought/question

I know that in a couple of other iMac update conspiracy theory thread, there has been speculation about cosmetic changes.

Given that there have been a lot of reports of people accidentally inserting their smartcards into the optical drive bay due to their being so close; would relocating this port to a different location (or even adding a USB port(s) to the side rather than on the back) be considered a cosmetic change?

Granted I don't have an iMac (yet) but it just seems kind of a hassle to have the more commonly used USB ports in such an out of reach location on the back. I know you could get a hub to have them more readily available, but that sort of defeats the purpose of the sleek and clean lines of the iMac.
