Updating? New Imacs? Tablets? iPod touch with Camera? Actually, I hope it is an apple Game system based onApple TV. or Apple tv connected to the app store. Darnit, i want something cool.
i hope so for something, not just taking away a cable or something
It happened on me right at midnight, it took me a minute to decide what to do about it.

34 countries out.

yeah, it is def down but i doubt we're getting a revised ipod touch w/ the camera. cuz its been what. 1 to 2 weeks. It would been pointless to announce the camera less touch if apple was coming out with a cam in just 2 weeks. i think it has to do with the apple tv if anything since there have been price drops and such. maybe a laptop mini- update?

Strange time for update. Early Sunday morning seems to be a more likely time for maintenance. Guess we'll see soon. :)

Nearly every Sunday this happens.

Twitter gets Follow Friday, so we get Apple Store Down Sunday :p

I don't think it will be a tablet or anything, though, Jobso would want to announce that, not just quietly add it to the store.

I'm thinking its either a quiet iMac / MacBook update or just general maintenance

Why does Apple need to take their entire store offline just to make some minor updates? Is their merchant tech that backward? Imagine if Amazon, ebay or any other major web retailer had to close the entire front end, just because they add a new line item or change the price!

If they are adding some new product then I can understand maybe that they want to be their usual melodramatic self, but if this is just regular maintenance, then it is pathetic that they need to go totally offline.

I'm hoping for a Mac Pro quad speed bump, but I fear that hope will be in vain. :p

Still down! How long does maintenance last????

Maybe it is new iMacs after all? It's be great for Apple to get new flagship hardware out just ahead of Win7. :apple:

They can't rebuild the site offline and then switch the old out for the new? It's not like they have to take the site to the shop and get the tires balanced, why would the store be down?? I know that's just how they do it, but it seems silly.

Exactly what I was about to post. I'd guess Amazon would lose millions if they done this as often as Apple do.
