Yeah the Belfast store is my local store and getting good service from it is a chore sometimes. Unfortunately as the only store in NI and official store in Ireland you haven’t much choice. I’ve been standing in the store at times wanting to buy something while the staff just mill around and don’t bother with you. I put it down to the Belfast / NI culture though. Sounds like you had a ***** time though. Hopefully it’s more of a one off bad day you got.

I have always had phenomenal service. Both at the store and via phone tech support. I have also had to contact corporate, on occasion and their response had also been spectacular. Even when a matter cannot be resolved or when the resolution was less than I had hoped for, how the matter was handled has been beyond reproach. Their level of customer support has been the reason why I remain in the Apple Eco-System and am more than willing to continue to purchase Apple products, even though other manufacturer’s products may be less costly.

because most people go there happy, with a purpose to buy something

I’ve been a member for quite a while actually...

I couldn’t agree more, 99% of the time.

As someone who worked at a store for a fair amount of time, the service started going downhill after Steve passed.

It slowly started changing from "how can we help somebody", to "how can we sell more AppleCare". When I first joined, we used to have morning meetings talking about customers from the previous day, any experiences that stood out, and how we helped people. By the time I'd left, those meetings were essentially a rundown of the previous day's sales figures and attachment rates.

Glad you agree. I’ve sent a correspondence to the manager. It shouldn’t be the case that the culture around it dictates the attitude in the store. We’re looking to spend serious money on their products and the service should meet it. The Victoria Square does get a lot of teenagers coming in, I get it, not everyone is a customer. But they should keep an eye on the ones who stand next to the product looking around to talk with someone.

All about that AppleCare! Good to hear your thoughts especially from an ex-employee.
