I just went to an Apple Store yesterday after a long time and just saw this (new?) emoji campaign Apple is running inside its stores. Those cityscapes with chat bubbles and (funny?) emojis lurking here and there...

This is by far the worst thing I have ever seen in an instore Apple ad campaign. It looks like designed by an elementary school kid. So low. Not classy at all... what are they thinking ????

Yeah I saw that too this weekend - not really a fan of what they're doing. I think pushing emojis just dumbs down the brand.

I saw this over the weekend too and it intrigued me. At the bottom it has the local time and the name of the city (Saw Shanghai and London). Some Apple Watch activity circles in there as well. Not just the smiley emoji either, there was the horn & confetti one too. Sounds like it was something for the new year.

I thought about taking a picture, but didn't. There's some very shaky ones of them online.

Some of the videos seem to be the AppleTV flyover screensaver with added emojis basically

It's an ad that's targeted at an audience that sees value in emoji. It's just something advertisers have always done.

Yep, and since they sell more phones then computers they want to keep reaching their target audience. I don't see this increasing the sales of MBPs, but I think that's of secondary concern to Apple.

Some of them don't make sense kinda (maybe if I looked at them harder they would)

But again, very pretty, love the new emojis with iOS 10 (the yellow faces) pop on anything they're on, hate seeing the old ones now!

It's not like they can showcase their shiny new hardware.

R.I.P : mini & mac semi-pro!

Exactly. I mean you can have funny and creative ads. The made on iPhone / iPad campaign showed it and was beautiful. Or the shot on iPhone campaign. But this emoji campaign ... *i can't eat as much as I like to vomit for this*

I went to a store for the first time in over a year, and I have to say that I rolled my eyes pretty hard when I saw this stuff all around.
I thought it was overly juvenile, I still love Macs but its getting harder to harder to justify the purchase when they increase the price, offer product that is missing stuff that I deem important and seems like an after thought as they focus on the iPhone/iPad market.

The ad is about sharing and communicating via iMessage and Apple Watch.
They're aiming the adds at the teens and pre-teens with this stuff, and I think its a mistake. Perhaps I'm being an old curmudgeon but I think Apple focusing so much on emojis is a mistake.

This is one of many ads
Also, would this even be an advertisement? It's just a tape playing on the screen when it's turned off
Think of it as a screensaver

have to again say they're beautiful, wish I could find high quality prints of the new ones, put that **** up on the wall
