Delivery window starts today. No movement as of yet. My MacStudio has been sitting in the box unopened for 3 weeks now. EU based. Ordered 3 weeks ago

Has anyone from Europe already received their display? If they are produced in Ireland, it may be because of the lack of components.

I caved and bought a Studio Display. I preordered the day it was announced and got scared and cancelled. I've had it setup for about 3 hours now and I can honestly say.... It may be overpriced but dam this is the best monitor/display/screen I've ever used.
I have a 14" M1 Pro MBP and iPhone 13 Pro max, so I know how great promotion is and Mini LED on the MBP are. Obviously, those would make this display better, but you don't notice they aren't there.
Yes, you could get 5 amazing monitors for the price of this one, but I have no regrets buying this.

I'm going to double down on this. Using the 14 M1 Pro MBP next to this display, the Studio Display seems better. I know that can't possibly be true, and maybe it's a size matters thing, but I can't get over how beautiful it really is

Until mine were delivered, I was convinced that I'd likely be returning them and going with higher-end 4K displays instead. I mean, how good could they really be...? But I was instantly blown away. I'm a total 5K ASD convert now.

Yeah I was really scared I'd regret it but I haven't. It's a dream. (Got mine via store pickup a few days ago.)

Congrats! I will probably have the same reaction.

Seeing other people gets theirs in Europe at-least gives me some hope that maybe something will finally get unblocked for me too!

(ordered 5 months ago 💩)
Holy Steve: Unblock the blocked ! I ordered March 10th. Austria. Reseller. Nothing. 5 1/2 months now.

The constant delays of the ASD here in Austria made me order the XDR. Thank you, Apple.
Honestly... I considered the same thing. It's not that I couldn't afford it, however the issue for me is that it is a 2y old product, with some caveats REALLY not appropriate for the price today IMHO:
- 5Gb/s speed on usb-c hub (vs. 10Gb/s on the studio display)
- 60Hz
- None of the auxiliary features - webcam, speakers, microphone
- Only ~500 mini led local dimming zones (vs. 2000 on the 14 inch macbook pro for example)
NONE of these would really be a dealbreaker for me at all... But it is 6k with a stand.. I shouldn't have to compromise this much at this price point.. IMHO the XDR was ahead of it's time, but a sort of "bleeding edge" product that jumped the gun on the tech that was just about to come down in price and get a lot better (mainly mini led).

There are rumors of a new XDR being around the corner also.. especially since Apple has yet to release an apple silicon Mac Pro replacement. Releasing those two together would make a lot of sense. That would really add insult to injury..

If there was a variant of the XDR that ATLEAST had:
* 5K/120Hz @ 27'' (even with a double cable setup to overcome bandwith limitations of usb-c)
* Had more dimming zones
I'd buy it for the current price tag of 5k+. But waiting around for it would probably take 2y to reach me, even if it was released tommorrow. 😩

Same here! Can't afford it, so I'm leasing it for the next 3 years...

Don´t do it. The old XDR makes no sense unless you´ve got jobs that can´t wait. I´ve got a workaround to cover the wait for the ASD: Luna Display. Came in within days from the US for 120 bucks + shipping.
It connects the MacStudio to my old IMacPro 27" Retina 5K working basically as a monitor. It really works, Thb3 connection ! - It´s not perfect but usable. Any IMac 27" Ret. will fit.

Ordered 2 ASD (standard/ VESA) on March 22 from retailer Amac in the Netherlands. No information at all for months and months and months. This must have been one of the most horrible customer service experiences ever! However I had an email last week that apparently Apple will make a shipment this week to Amac and subsequently my 2 displays will be shipped to me afterwards.

I would think that most users of this forum are loyal Apple customers and I must say that I am astonished by all of your experiences as well. How is it possible that a supplier of premier products like Apple handles it most loyal customers like this!

For any future purchases I will never ever buy anything from Apple again that is not in stock.

For those looking for an ASD Standard/VESA, it is in Stock at Adorama right now:

great for US customers but not for Europa, but having ordered two ASD Standard/VESA on March 22 and still waiting I really can't understand Apple's distribution policy. I must say that I feel insulted by Apple if I can't seem to get this monitor in the Netherlands having waited already for more then 5 (!) months and in the USA the exact same monitor is in stock.

We´re all hooked already so there´s no need to serve us well. Holy Steve, pls. send them to hell.

It finally happened, after having ordered 2 ASD (standard / VESA) on march 22 they arrived yesterday.
ofcourse very very disappointed by such ridiculous delivery time, with no information from my retailer at all during nearly 6 months (AMAC in the Netherland).

Amac should have delivered them in person to my house and install them, but in contrast to our agreement they sent them by courier.

Must say that the displays are very nice. However USB C cables are too short for VESA, if you would like to hide the cable in the monitor arms (ergotron). Very disappointed after such a long waiting time that such a detail is just not ok. Furthermore I had to install several updates on brand new display, typical that the factory doesn’t ship them with the latest software. Looking forward to using the webcam but really curious about the actual quality.

The cables are short for VESA, at is true, but all the different versions receive the same ones, so it’s understandable. I bit the bullet on longer ones and I’m fine with it.

As for the webcam, I think it’s not anywhere as bad as people make it out to be. I’ve specifically asked people at the other end how I look and they all say the image is fine. Blowing up a 1080p image to 5K will show imperfections. At the receiving end, so I’m told, everything looks great.
