No no no I really don't like the idea of Apple only making its OS. Its kind of like the OS and the Computer work better together because they were both designed by the same people with the same ideas. I would lose a lot of respect for apple if they allowed other companys to develop apple computers. But then it wouldnt be an Apple computer, it would be a "[company name]" computer. Nah that would kill it.

Hey...

Not all of us are idiots, buddy.

Fact #1...Apple doesn't actually design or produce their own hardware. In fact, no PC companies do either.

Fact #2...Apple and the PC manufacturers design the ENCLOSURE (usually), but the parts inside are from assorted companies.

So...to recap...Dell buys parts from other companies, puts them into a Dell enclosure, installs windows on it and ships it out...

Apple buys parts from other companies, puts it into an Apple enclosure, installs Mac OS X on it and ships it out...

Any questions?

A favor to ask...

If you think it would be a good idea for Apple to get other companies to make the hardware, think again. Guess why OS X is working so well, because Apple costumdesigns the hardware for it to work seamlessly with the software. Also, Apple makes some of the best hardware in the world. Their RAM, harddrives, and especially screens may be expensive, but they sure as hell are quality. No sub-companies!

Hey, please don't take this too personally, but this comment makes you sound pretty ignorant and you're embarrassing us well informed Apple fans.

This would put them in direct competition with some big company...what was it again...oh, right, MICROSOFT.

I concur that Apple is better off with small market share and higher profit margins than the opposite.

I was not referring to you or anyone restraining one's self from making idiotic posts ... If you dont knwo your stuff, dont posts "statements" or pretend you do.
people like josias are who I was reffering to. (there are so many of "his kind" in all apple forums ((plz dont be offended josbais))...)
People who are hardcore fanboys based on nothing but misinformation, ignorance and naivety.

I wasnt trying to lash out, really. Just, it gets really annoying reading these threads when they always end up down the same simply because of misinformed ignorance.

part of life I guess.

Wishing for a magic bus.
This is the msot pathetic display of fanboyism ever. I at least have some respect for INFORMED fanboys, but this is just stupid. Regardless of all the little jokes, regardless of all the little sig posts etc, Windows ain't half bad. Why? Cuz I use it. Yeah, crashes, driver problems, the thing is loud as a fracking HUmvee, but it gets the job done, which is great for people who only needs the jobs of internet and email done. The problem with fanboys is that they think that it is their duty to convert people to their platform. Just give it up. Theres all this anti-MS, anti-Gates crap, but most kids (emphasize) don't realize there probably wouldn't even be an Apple if it wasn't for Gates, who came to save the day with his dirty money. Yeah, I hate him too because he has so much money he doesn't know what to do with it, but I respect him too, because he proved to nerds everywhere that getting rich can be as easy as stealing software.
Back to the fanboy rant, let Windows-people be Windows-people, let the Mac-users be Mac-users. Its not your responsiblilty to let the know about all the flaws in the operating system of their choice, because odds are, they don't know jack, and while your preaching to them they're wondering what Bluetooth is. The moral is, don't sit there and try to make a name for yourself on forums by over-emphasizing what everybody knows by making fun of people who couldn't give a damn, and just enjoy your Mac. (or try to get one if you want one)

Whoa, where the hell did that come from. Oof. That took alot. I just lite a fire didn't I? Well I'll get what I deserve.
