haha, the lower part of my university's computer lab looks similar.. a huge graveyard of old PowerMac G4's stacked on top of each other, eMacs, keyboards and mice.

While they're just sitting there, they might be counted as inventory that still has some value on paper. The usual response from management is that it's actually cheaper to just throw them away than giving (or even selling) them to people. Red tape...

Cool- would be great to see pics if you can get some. I was we'd get to see examples of other 'Apple graveyards'.

I think the point is when a company accumulates this much "stuff" they would have to hire or contract out someone to sell the items. They'd make more money (and save a lot of time) writing it off as a charitable donation.
