Based on all the threads OP has created and how he abuses his phones - didn't you leave it on a radiator once and also dropped another one - I am so curious on how the store reacted when you got to the store and told them "the display is trash yo" and scratches easily, haha. Not trolling you OP, I appreciate your threads. Genuinely curious here. What "problem" did they find with the phone?

sounds like an impatient 10 year old to me! It takes time to diagnose and try to fix things, relax be glad you got a new one

How do you clean the screen? You know harsh cleaners (like most over the counter cleaners) will remove the coating from the display and cause things to smudge really badly, right?

Usually. Sometimes they give trouble I guess. Still kind of frustrated with the overall process tbh.
I don’t see what there is to be frustrated about. You complained, they replaced it. You couldn’t have asked for a better outcome.

The screen is no more scratch prone than any phone screen and if you’ve scratched it already you either haven’t taken sufficient care to avoid it or have had an unfortunate accident - neither are Apple’s fault.

So why did it take 1.5 hours, what was the problem?

#vaguebook

Well first they said there’s no real problem here.

Then dude talked to the manager.

And I talked to the manager around that time as well.

Then they agreed to fix the dust in the camera.

Then they took it back right away.

After over an hour, they come back and say they couldn’t fix it or something or there’s just some problem.

I don’t think I deserve to be seen sooner bc I paid 1000 for the phone.

I don’t care if someone comes in with a freaking lightning cable issue.

If they came before me and had an appointment before mine, they get seen first.

TLDR:

All I’m saying is that the whole process should’ve been better.

*ALSO*

Dude says screen smudges more bc of OLED.

Is that even true? I thought OLED meant that’s the screen UNDER the glass.

Didn’t know the glass itself was OLED so then it’ll scratch and smudge more

I wouldn’t think that OLED would directly cause more smudges, but it could be the case that Apple doesn’t apply as much oleophobic coating to OLED panels for some reason.

In any event, regardless of how much is there, it wears off over time and smudges will be more noticeable. Older phones will smudge easier so I’m not clear on what your issue is, and it’s possible that the Apple store staff weren’t either.

They actually tried to help with some dust and after working on it and running into some trouble they replaced the device with the issue. Definitely seems like it all should have been way better than that.

I felt like they tried bc I remained firm

I had read the forum so I knew dust was unacceptable

Someone else might’ve just left the store with no solution at all

So your complaint was you had to wait 1.5 hours? They tried to fix it first, couldn't, and then gave you a new iPhone, all within 90 minutes. The instant gratification generation. Good lord, just think if they said they would fix it and you could pick it up the next day. Oh the tragedy story we would have seen if that occurred.

Is it the new iPhone? If so how is it past 14 days?

It’s not a new iPhone. This member has had this iPhone X for almost a year, and they just *now* are experiencing continual smudges and scratching on the display, but yet they want to blame Apple for the ‘poor quality’ by calling it ‘Straight Garbadge’? So in theory, this does not make sense.

Thank you

It’s not new. I’ve had it maybe 6 months.

Upgraded from the iPhone 8.
