I read the link. You're quite daft if you believe it. It's a typical PR response by a company that has known full well what the conditions are like, and is only now trying to excuse themselves to a public which has just gotten a peek behind the curtain and discovered who and how that shiny toy in their pocket was assembled.
Apple doesn't care about the lives of the workers. Apply only cares that the consumer doesn't care, and they want to make sure that the public doesn't start care.
I'm sorry but not everything is a hidden conspiracy.
Foxconn will exist whether Apple is there or not. Foxconn is NOT Apple and Apple is not responsible for what goes on in Foxconn.
What Apple does do is use its money and contracts like a responsible company should to try and improve working conditions for the VOLUNTARY employees of Foxconn.
No one is holding them there, and apparently it can't be that bad of a place to work if people are lined up daily to try and get Foxconn jobs.
If you actually read the report you'd see Apple has made big strides in this area since taking Foxconn on as a supplier. Try and give credit where credit is due. Apple could have easily turned their back but they didn't.
