sorry to bump this but I thought I would ask here instead of starting a new thread. I have 2 phones and 1 iPad to trade in for gift card credit. Can I bring them into a store, get the gift cards and leave and use them later? Or do they only do trade ins when you are going to use the credit towards something else in the same trip? Thanks in advance!
Just an update! Went to my Apple Store earlier this afternoon, and 20 minutes later I walked out with enough $ on gift cards to cover the cost of a 16 Pro Max plus tax! (Assuming the price doesn’t go up this year lol) thank you everyone for the advice! :)

Canadian customer here. Have traded in products at the Apple Store previously, and each time they always deducted the trade in price before tax was charged, giving me an extra (Ontario) 13% for the TIV. Last year, I mailed my phone in, and they just gave me the stated amount back on my card. Can anyone confirm whether or not in store trades still get that TIV + tax amount?

Hey, did you got an answer?

Has anyone had experience with Apple's trade-in service?
I don't normally trade-in with Apple but the one time I did it went pretty smoothly until I had to activate the phone. Back then I had Verizon and apparently they were having issues activating the iPhone 12s. The actual trade in portion was pretty seamless.
