Works perfect with my Sony.

With newer Sony TVs the odds seemed to be roughly 50/50 on models. Philips was slightly better. Either way RGB High seems to working for pretty much everyone who was previously unable to use their ATV.

Gotta love it when someone starts a thread with an absolute statement which is proven wrong in 2 minutes. :D

+1 especially since the ATV2 works find on both my Philips and Sony TV (and on a Mitsubishi).

The OP's original post is seriously flawed...(see what I did there!)

Honestly though I'm sick of these blanket statement threads where people think that everyones product has a problem.

Not to mention just because something pops up on a forum doesn't mean Apple knows about it. Unless someone goes to http://www.apple.com/feedback don't assume Apple knows about said problem.

i have a sony lcd tv that works perfectly with the atv2. i've never seen the symptoms the OP speaks of.

I know I posted before, but how old - or new - does the TV need to be? Mine is a 4+ year old Sony DLP and I haven't seen these problems.

Actually he was proved pretty much right. You may want to look at the post date, then do some googling for AppleTv color issues with Sony and Philips TVs. A large number of models were affected.

You either have old TVs or you got very lucky. Yay you.

Most of the models I saw listed where newer (within the last two years). I don't know if anyone ever narrowed it down to a specific family of panels, or HDMI chipset. It certainly wasn't specific to panel size, and the behaviour seen was identical on both Sony and Philips TVs, so probably a Sony component that Philips were also using.
