I don't believe the others to be "failures" (especially the MBA), but I don't have the stats handy.
I've seen maybe 1 in the wild....since the release
I am not sure that qualifies as an accurate frame of reference
It is not a product for everyone
It has a target demographic as well
Woof, Woof - Dawg
but that's only me.
And the iPad is going to be a hit, no matter what the disappointed think. Fact is that it's cheap, and let's people check their facebook and twitter quite capably.
That ALONE will buy millions in the teen crowd.
I agree with everything you have said. However, the lack of Flash kills half of the apps on Facebook. They may end up being a problem.
I see your point, but a "Smart" facebook app developer would recode their app for the appstore, and sell it for profit. Not only would people LOVE to get down with their Farmvilles on an iPhone or iPad, they'd probably throw down .99 or even 1.99 for what they could get for free on a laptop or desktop.
Word Ace has sort of done this, though it's a free app. I'm sure there are others, but don't forget that Adobe has a program for converting flash apps to be iPhone compatible coming out.
