I like the current trend of keeping shows to a limited number of seasons, rather than dragging them out until they die a slow death.

Apple today announced it has renewed the award-winning sci-fi series "Silo" for third and fourth seasons, allowing for the "complete story" to be told. The series is based on Hugh Howey's best-selling book series.

Apple confirmed that the fourth season will be the final season of the show.

"With the final two chapters of 'Silo,' we can't wait to give fans of the show an incredibly satisfying conclusion to the many mysteries and unanswered questions contained within the walls of these silos," said showrunner and executive producer Graham Yost.

"Silo" is currently midway through its second season on Apple TV+, with new episodes releasing each Friday through January 17.

The series follows the last 10,000 people on Earth, all of whom live in a massive underground bunker to escape the seemingly toxic and deadly world outside. The people are unaware of why the silo was built, and those who seek the truth face deadly consequences. Rebecca Ferguson stars as Juliette Nichols, an engineer who attempts to unravel the mysteries surrounding the silo following a loved one's murder.

Apple TV+ costs $9.99 per month or $99 per year in the U.S., and the streaming service is also included in all Apple One subscription bundles.

Second season jumps around too much for me, but I still like the show. Really glad Apple has announced now there will be more seasons. I hate so many of the cable shows you never know if or when another season of a show will come.

Binge watching is a choice, not a requirement and I don't really understand your rant? My wife and I watch a few things but never more than 1-2 episodes of any particular show per week, cliffhanger or otherwise.

As for not remembering, that is what the recaps are for. 🤷🏻‍♂️
They're connected: the beginning of the subsequent episode follows the ending of the previous one. They're designed to be watched one after another in order to achieve the full effect. Sure, you can "choose" not to watch them like that, just as you can choose not to watch them at all. Pre-streaming series were not like that at all - each episode was a self-contained story (mostly). There's a fundamental difference in structure as a result of the turn to streaming. Again, the medium is the message.

Wonderful show. Happy to hear that it will have another two seasons and get a proper ending. Excited to see what happens in the remaining episodes of the second season.

Everything that has happened so far in season 2 could have been edited down to a single episodes or even just a opening scene. I am watching it on 1,5x speed now.

After the first season I read the books and I had the same impression, very very slow. Could have told the same storry on half the pages. Other than that I liked the books.

I will watch season 2 after the last episode has been aired, I hate to wait a week between episodes.

The Shift season will really blow your mind then if they follow the books. Set over hundreds of years across multiple silos 😂
Some of it isn’t even set in the silos 😜

I like it a lot but it is very dark and sometimes hard to see what is going on. I do know that the calibration feature on the Apple TV helps.

I’ve been watching the 2nd season today and I don’t find it difficult to see on my OLED TV.
