How is the PQ? When I tried it was bad on the ATV and all devices. My PSVue sub ended and I won't renew it as the guide is broken so bad that the DVR feature is useless unless you want programs to start late, get cut off or even record the wrong program again late.

I agree Sling TV I cancelled right before my 7 day trial was up. I am using PSVue now which has no app for the ATV but it is not so great either as the DVR guide is utterly useless because programs can start up to 10 minutes late and end late. However the PQ does remain sharp unlike Vue but because of the bad DVR timers I am dropping it too. DirecTV streaming service can't come anytime sooner.

AT&T rep stated DirecTV streaming service is scheduled to come out in October

Just signed up for Slingtv again since PSVue unreliable guide and late programs getting cut off the app is way better than it was. Also the Roku app is the best of all. Quality video is much more reliable and the app has not locked up once. I don't miss no DVR with Slingtv since the PSVue guide was never reliable.

The AFTV Sling TV app is still crap still using the older UI as the ATV4 and Roku are using the newer UI. Slow ramp up on the AFTV and it already locked up.

I could not stand Sling but I kept burning through trials periodically because as good Vue is, everyone in my household is used to Apple TV. Jumping around between apps looking for something to watch without a guide is a pain in the ass so that option isn't great either.

Anyway after the last Sling update I found it worked much better. I'm now a paying Sling subscriber, cancelled Vue and am somewhat satisfied. Plus I'm starting to dig that crappy El Ray channel

Shouldn't it be the other way around? wired is more reliable than wireless in general.

Gremlins. They can get into the wires but not the air.

Y'know their still shippin them over here. They put em in cars, they put em in yer tv. They put em in stereos and those little radios you stick in your ears. They even put em in watches, they have teeny gremlins for our watches!

We have been happy with the Sling overall, the UI with the guide could use a little help, its too easy to make a mistake while scrolling.

I wish Amazon Prime Video would be available on ATV4.

I have had Sling for a few weeks now, on my much faster wifi and processor Apple TV 4, Sling has been having some issues. On my Roku's in the other rooms have been flawless, HD quality streams. Perhaps the Apple APP is fudged up.

The UI of Sling when you're IN a channel by swiping up is practical and a great set up, but when you're not on a channel and have to use the UI it's a bit convoluted.

For $30 a month (Redzone package) it literally covers every single channel I'd ever watch with regular Cable, and all the NFL programming. It's a fantastic deal.

I'm very pleased with what I get on SlingTV for $25 a month. It's such a refreshing inexpensive option as compared to cable bundles. I watch a lot of SyFy, FX, AMC, and was willing to pay an extra $5 for a movie bundle which has 4 or 5 channels on it to get TCM.

Have been watching Sling on my Roku and have noticed some channels (Epix) have streaming issues on occasion with not keeping up. Just got a 4th gen Apple TV and will see if it's any better there.

I'm on Vue for now as it meets all needs and price point. Sling is a good start in the right direction, but isn't quite there yet, feels very beta still, and I tried it before it ever reached the ATV. Somehow, PS got it close to right with Vue, I have great picture quality, DVR seems to work ok for me, and the login works with any and all services I've tried so far. There are currently apps available for ATV for all the things I currently watch, so I don't use the actual PS3/PS4 much to watch anything. Debating on adding another ATV4 to downstairs TV and sticking with Vue.

I went through a few free trials. And decided to go with vue service on my amazon fire tv instead. I had no issues with sling unless you tried watching it in primetime. Each evening no matter what channel i tried to use. It would just cut off, buffer. Most of the time there would a wheel that would just spin and spin. I got so frustrated that i gave up sling. I am very happy with vue service. Unfortunately Apple is dragging its feet with regards to vue service on the Apple tv.

Why do you say Apple is dragging? I would think Sony is dragging their feet since they are the ones controlling where they deploy "their" App.

Probably cause every time i talk to Sony they blame Apple lol. They point to the fact that Roku and Amazon both allow Vue on their platforms. And they imply it is Apple that is holding this up. Perhaps Apple has some kind of wink or nod to Sling tv for now that says they will only push Sling live tv for a certain period of time? With no live tv competitors till "X" future date. All i know is that i am disappointed that vue is not on Apple cause i prefer the UI and the whole experience in general from the Apple tv.

The only problem I am aware of is "In App Purchase". You have to give Apple a cut (30% for Apps and I think 15% for streaming). If you do not allow "In App Purchase" then Apple does not get a cut. That is why most Apps on the iPhone/iPad do not allow in app purchase. Like Amazon Video/Prime. You can only watch what you have already purchased on the Web Site or of course Prime Videos. I think Amazon and maybe Sony want Apple to allow In App Purchase with no cut going to Apple. Maybe this is what they are talking about. Also, with Hulu and CBS All Access they charge MORE if you purchase via iOS or tvOS then they do if you purchase from their web site. I think Sony and Amazon just need to figure it out because I do not think Apple will drop their policy.

Hopefully something happens soon. Cause I get more bang for the buck with vue. As far the channel lineup for the price I pay. At least with Amazon you can airplay to the Apple TV. But with the vue service. They have that blocked. I would settle for airplaying vue to the Apple TV for now. It would be better than nothing.

I would only consider VUE if they had an Apple TV App. Others I know feel the same. Somewhere I read they were definitely coming but I will believe it when I see it. The Cloud DVR will be a selling point if it works really well. Not sure about the 28 days.

Does anyone know if VUE is coming to Apple TV? I'd like to try that service as well, I have Sling now. No complaints really other than ESPN not being on the blue package.

The 2 things about Vue that drove me to cancel was the very bad DVR and the total lack of support. It is worse than Timewarner and I didnt think that was even possible. Every show I would attempt to DVR started late and finished 5 minutes before the show ended. I don't know how many complaints I saw in the forum and Sony just ignores them I guess. The only way I could pay was to buy the digital code from Amazon and apply it. I wondered if they want to be successful

Just a update Sling TV is much more reliable then when I first tried it and programs start at the right time. Too bad there is no DVR.

The buffering is all but eliminated. The Apple TV experience has been greatly improved. So many of the shows offer on demand the lack of a DVR doesn't concern me. I have to watch a few commercials but its not a deal breaker for the price point.

**Bumping old thread**

Question for Sling users. Can you subscribe for Sling TV through iTunes?
