Other Apple upgrade charged 2 extra payments?

so when I preordered the iPhone max it gave me the total with an extra payment for my iPhone x. I understood that cause the x came out later last year.

But now I got an email from citizens one saying my payment for October for my iPhone x will come out next week.

Has anyone had this happen? I have the receipt that says upgrade payment which is the same amount as my payments for my old iPhone.

Okay I called and they said my loan was on hold and that I shouldn't be charged for October and to ignore the email.

I am of course going to keep the email and wait to see what happens. She just said make sure to return my iPhone, which I will def. do so.

I just spoke with Citizens and was told a different answer...

They just told me that until they receive the phone back any additional payments will be applied, and because my payment due date is 10/2, that unless they have the phone before then, it will be charged. FedEx currently is on track to deliver it on 10/2, so I will likely be charged.

That wouldn't make sense. I already made my September payment and paid apple for the full October payment with the buying of the X's. If you get charged show your receipts
 
I absolutely agree that it doesn't make sense. There is no reason we should get charged again since we were forced to make the extra payment in the first place. I know last year when I upgraded, the citizens one loan updated on their site to show that it was on hold, but I didn't get that same notification this year.

I am hoping that the rep the other person quoted in here is correct, and that we don't actually get charged... I'll post back on 10/2 and let you know if I do or not.

I had got a refund refund from a payment before. Seem to take in account when the switch over to new unit took place.
 
Yeah I just got charged today as well for mine and my wife’s. Not super happy about this because I didn’t even get my return boxes until mid last week. Especially with making a payment in advance to upgrade. Loan should have been put on hold until the due date for the phones IMO.

That's the weird thing. They definitely put them on hold last year... I don't know why they didn't this year.
 
I assumed the extra payment was because the X was out later last year, thus not a full year. We are obligated to pay a year. That was a bad deal both ways last year as we had to pay >1 year for the 7. If you didn’t keep your phone, you paid more than half for a phone you gave back.

When your phone ships, Apple puts a hold on the loan. Citizens can’t charge you until Apple removes the hold. I bought my old phone so I had to call Apple to cancel hold so I could call citizens to pay off.

I sent a phone back last week and I just checked, my total payments were half. But always a good idea to check the account to make sure it’s legit.

Check your new phone invoice because you should have already paid an extra month (assuming you bought last season X).

Yes, I did pay the extra payment when I preordered last month... I do see both accounts (old loan and new loan). But the old loan was not put on hold. I was charged another payment this morning for the old phones (which will make the 13th payment made).
 
One of my loans was put on hold correctly and didn't charge (also didn't get email) the other however wasn't and I was charged and did receive the email warning. Called Citizens One and was told the 13th payment would be refunded.
 
Yes, it is annoying. DH and I just both got charged the payment for the X even though we have the XS Max now. We only got our boxes for the return at the end of last week and sent them off on Monday. I will wait a couple of weeks and see if a refund is forthcoming....
 
Well, looks like this morning the loan updated. Now both old loans have a credit of $49.91 each on the citizens one site. Assume that means they will be crediting that amount back.

Mine updated too. Account balance for that load now shows -$56.16. Assume this means they will either credit my card, or apply the credit to next month's payment on the XS Max. I'm OK with either.

you will get a refund on your card but it will take 2 months lol
 
No credit yet for the one loan that got charged an extra payment on 9/27.
