i tried BD_to_AVP to convert 3D BD disk to .mov file.

and yes, i can play it via AVP's Files app ( smb connect to NAS) and 3D looks good.

.mov file opened by Moon Player, 3D effect didnot work.....

It sounds like you need to rip it to the SBS format and play it back in Moon Player. Just to demo it I downloaded an SBS version of the trailer of The Joker and watched it in Moon Player via the Files app and it worked. I don’t own any 3D Blue Rays at the moment but am thinking of getting a Blue Ray player so I can buy them and rip them to get access to more 3D titles than Apple has in its library that are for sale.

I’d prefer to just buy them from Apple and watch them from my library in the Apple TV+ app but I’m not opposed to going back to the old days of ripping my media from disc to a digital format if I have to.

I for the life of me can’t get BD_to_AVP to work - wish someone made a GUI for it versus all command line

As far as I can tell, the only connection on the Apple Vision Pro head set is the one for the battery pack. So would that mean there's no HDMI compatible input jack that would allow you to connect to the output on a Blu-Ray or 4K UHD Blu-Ray player?
you can't rip em and stream em?

Moon Player supports both full and half SBS MKV files.

Tried a download from the website and played in Moon Player. Result was 3D but terrible quality and stretched sideways 2 or 3 times the real size. Screenshot doesn't show the whole width. Redford (Butch Cassidy) looks like a Sumo wrestler.

Try Left and Right Full? Shouldn’t be stretched and haven’t had that issue of selecting the right mode

If you find a way to play the BluRay on your Mac and cancel DRM, you could AirPlay that screen to your AVP, or use another software that could stream it.
But I think the best way is to rip to a newer CODEC. I was able to rip most of my DVD movies and put them on a hard drive, but the resolution is only 640x480 and most movies are already available at the streaming sites (Netflix, Prime, Hulu, etc.).

I do remember there was a time when BluRay and DVDs would come with a code to get the digital version of the movie from VuDu or iTunes.

DVDFab is your friend. Takes 3d and 4K Blu-ray, rips into bluray 3d format. Then use Unifab to convert to side by side MP4/H264/H265 etc. https://www.dvdfab.cn/tips/rip-3d-blu-ray-to-3d-mkv.htm

I have a large selection to watch on my Quest 3 via SKYBOX VR cinema. They look amazing.

There is also a cinema app on the Quest 3 that allows direct play of the original 3d bluray stream (4XVR video player) - this also has a version on the Vision Pro https://m.4xvr.net/

(Obviously for 4K Blu-ray you need a 4k Blu-ray drive. I use the Buffalo BRUHD-PU3-BL imported from Japan. Make sure you are using an early firmware that allows ripping though)

What a nightmare. One article describing some of the issues:

which says you need BD3D2MK3D. Unfortunately it is a Windows program which means you have to deal with Windows. Running Windows 11 under Parallels after ripping 300 3D via MakeMkv:

1. Program needed java, which wasn't installed.
2. Program had problems finding some of its libraries
3. Windows networking didn't show the shared source folder on the Mac

All of the problems are solvable I think, some due to using a virtual machine, but so far no success.

Venting about how much I dislike Windows. Sometimes even the simplest things can take hours due to missing libraries and other problems. Hope someone comes up with a more elegant Mac solution.

I use DVDFab first to rip the bluray, then BD3D2MK3D to convert to FullSBS. Makes it easier.

No mac app isn't a windows problem, that's a mac problem.

? As far as I know it is just available on Windows which means that you get Windows problems, as I detailed.

The rip isn't the problem. The problems were encountered running BD3D2MK3D on Windows.

Had to delete it as my anti-virus found a file that it didn't like:

VLC plays ripped BDMV - VLC is compatible with the Vision Pro. What happens, if you stream the BDMV locally from a NAS on the Vision Pro in VLC?
…unfortunately no ripped BDMV here at the moment to try it myself.

Meh. Its fine. Converted loads of my discs beautifully, full SBS 1080 H264 level 5. Run great on my VR headset and Lumepad 2

How was / is the quality of the 3D films on that site?
My 4K test video ran ~17 Mbs video, ~640 Kbs audio.

Compare with an MKV 2D 4K rip ~50 Mb/s video and audio ~2700 kb/s

Since this is a pirate site not one that I would use or recommend.

I'm guessing that the battery connector is actually an industry standard USB-C connector, which would allow you to use a hub. If not, there's always the possibility of buying digital movies from iTunes, which most people probably prefer to do. I got rid of most of my physical DVD's and Blueray's years ago.
You can also use the developer strap the alternative way but it reqs you to be an Apple developer who paid the $99 fee to have App Store Connect access, then pay $400 for it in total.
