Just chiming in to say updating to beta 16.1 worked for me as well... chase debit card wasn't working... Working perfectly after update

I had trouble adding my Chase card as well, but after updating to 16.0.1 it worked.

My Mastercard credit card worked first try. Both of my Chase debit cards took multiple tries. Eventually I got them all in, but the Chase ones definitely gave me plenty of issues. Not sure why either. I didn’t change anything before they finally did work.

My American Express was added no problem the first time but my Chase cards gave me issues until about a few hours after

Only problem I had was my Barclaycard MC... it migrated from the old phone to the new, but then wanted a code that they'd supposedly emailed me. Except... no email. Had to call their 800 number.

Another MC, two Visa(s), migrated with no problem.

Got the same problem. I’m in France and i can’t add my debit card in Wallet on my iPhone 14 Pro on iOS 16.0.1 (or Apple Watch 8).
Tried to reset the iPhone but it doesn’t work during the setup process so I doubt this as to do with my old save.
Deleted it from my old iPhone and added it again, no problem.
But can‘t do it on my new iPhone for some reason ... I will try to call the bank …

Ya, I had issues with my chase debit card, but it worked recently later in the day for me

Just spoke to someone at my bank, turns out there’s something wrong with their system. They said to try again later.
We’ll see ! 😄
What’s weird is that it’s working perfectly on my old iPhone and Watch.

Chase cards STILL not working as of Sunday morning. Even after updating to 16.0.1. Very very frustrating. I did call into Chase and the claim this is a known issue.... we will see...

I wonder if this is an issue with Apple not unlike when they added the option to unlock the phone with the watch when wearing a mask. Some of us couldn't activate the thing because of a bug in the OS.
I finally succeed in activating my card on the watch after an unpair et set as new watch but still not working on the phone.

Just succeed in adding my card to Wallet. Don’t know if they fixed something or if the fact I just wiped my old iPhone helped but I won’t complain.

That was the first thing I did before adding my cards. Anyways it works now, not sure if Chase or Apple's fault, but Chase is blaming Apple.
I'd believe it if NO cards worked, but it seems to just be BoA and chase, and I think I heard some AMEX

I found a workaround which allowed me to add my failing Chase Cards:
  1. Go through the process to try to add a card - When you see the failed to add screen stop, don't dismiss the popup.
  2. Lock the phone and wait at least 15 minutes (trying sooner doesn't work, don't dismiss the popup)
  3. Unlock the phone
  4. Tap "Try Again" (dismisses the popup) and immediately hit "Next" in the top right. This time, it will work.
I have a theory that this is some sort of rate limiting at play. There's a bug on the add card screen that causes that very first screen (the one where you pick between adding a credit card, transit card of ID) to blow through a rate limit server-side. From then on, you're doomed to fail if your card add requires one of the URLs that's been rate limited. Once you've entered all your card details though, there's no more hits on that URL that's rate limited happening in the background (which is why I think it's a bug on that first add card screen). Thus, waiting 15 minutes allows the rate limit to clear and the card add to be successful on the next submit attempt.

I've been having this same issue as of late. I'm attempting the above work around at the moment. But, I can add the cards to my Apple Watch and Mac. Just not the iPhone.
