Let's hope in 10 years we can use it for a week before we have to charge it and in addition it can show its watch face all the time.

Also - I would like to see more health sensors, GPS and that it can be connected and work with iPad or Mac and of course standalone. But not just sync with iPhoone

I apologize if you misinterpreted my reply to you as an effort to "start something" as that was not my intention at all. I wasn't asking how old you were in a rhetorical sense but in a literal sense as your somewhat flippant reply seemed to come from a very bright but young person with lots of knowledge and no experience by stating what is an opinion as an absolute fact.

Reread your original response to me and perhaps you'll understand why I was taken aback by it. It's very likely you didn't intend to sound as impertinent as you did, but unfortunately that's how I perceived it.

Please understand, I don't mind when someone disagrees with me. If we all agreed then there wouldn't be much to these forums. But I do take offense to someone categorizing my opinions as irrelevant especially when you didn't seem to take time to grasp the context of my original reply.

I accept and appreciate your apology. While I did in fact read your post carefully, it was your suggestion that I didn't that seemed harsh. My intentions were to share an authentic viewpoint, not to be flippant, nor was my response using the word irrelevant pointed at you, it was to the comparison.

If somehow my post offended you, I offer my sincere apologies.

I do believe that we've had a simple misunderstanding, as you seem genuine, intelligent and with the same good intentions that I maintain. Going forward I hope you enjoy this forum as I do. It's a great resource.

Cheers :)

And how's the last breakthrough in TVs (3D TVs) going?

The last breakthrough was HD. It was an iPhone-esque moment that totally disrupted it's industry and marked a dramatic increase in the quality of the product delivered to the consumer. The apple watch is more akin to the introduction of the remote control... it makes it easier to control the primary device, but you don't need one and many people will happily do without.

Me too! I think 3D without glasses could bring it back :)

Those damn early TVs with crappy 3D and the fact panasonic had Avatar locked down killed 3D.

I'm very excited about Oculus Rift as well. It feels faddish but even if only 5-6 really great experiences come out of it it will easily be worth the money.

In ten years I think wearables will be either on the cusp of obsolescence or the main medium by which we communicate with computers, and I think it relies on display technology vs. brain mapping technology.

Who wins the race? Someone trying t figure out how to put a computer chip in parallel with your brain or the person trying to project information from a wearable device. I know absolutely nothing about the advancement of projector/hologram technology - so my money is on direct brain integration. Probably not *in* the next 10 years...but in 10 years it will be evident which way we are going and the market will shift accordingly.

I'm hoping for all of that (minus the one week wear time) by version 2!

Im not sure that is a good analogy. How many TVs are sold or used without remote controls? Next to none I would suggest. I would be very surprised if the apple watch gets even close to that level of market penetration lol

The question isn't how many are sold that way now, it's how many were sold that way when Remotes were new. I don't think the watch will ever see the level of penetration that the remote control has, but I think it's still an apt analogy because they fundamentally do similar things for the devices they connect to.

Heh. When I was growing up, Dads didn't need remote controls.

That's what their kids were for :D

Especially since changing a channel often also required fiddling with the rabbit ears and vertical hold dial !

Sorry. We now return you to the regularly scheduled forum channel.
