I see the thumbnail of the attached file but it does not open. Most likely a problem on my side.
Bummer :(he
valenrandy, I can see the pics, and it looks terrible. Just awful. Looks like it fell from the ISS and skidded down the side of a volcano before landing in a pile of cow poop.

You don't want it. Seriously. <jedi mind trick> This isn't the bracelet you're looking for. </jedi mind trick>

(psst! pcall1128! Hang onto it while I ask my wife if I can get it for my birthday! Looks FANTASTIC! Don't tell valenrandy!)

:D ;)

Hehe!! Yep those volcanos do it every time!! Im still waiting to hear from

Don't worry about the scratches on the bracelet. A simple polishing by a watchmaker will clean those up!

How easy is it to keep the bracelet clean of dirt and gunk? Is it enough to rinse it off like other, more simply-constructed bracelets?

You don't want to polish it. You want to brush it. I just cleaned up my link bracelet and rebrushed it. It was pretty well scratched all over. After about an hour of elbow grease it looks like this now.

How do you rebrush it?

Hi guys, i currently have a stainless steel AW with the black sports band. Im looking to make the watch look abit more expensive and luxury. Since before getting the watch i always wanted the stainless steel link bracelet but after hearing some stories of the bracelet scratching im looking to maybe get a cheaper copy. Does anyone have a link bracelet copy that they think is good and looks identical? any help would be great thanks
Never buy an imitation or fake item as usually the quality is not the same as the original one. Although the item price is usually incredibly cheaper, buyer usually gets what she or he pays for.

I have the MoKo link bracelet and it's very good for the price. I'd start with something like that and if you aren't happy then look at the Apple one.

That's a beautiful watch. I have the stainless with link and while I'm very happy with my choice I always look with some envy at the space black one. Wish I could have both.

Esoso makes a nice third party band as well. More specifically sport bands. High quality, But at a higher price.

Are the only markings on the silver Apple link bracelet on the open butterfly clasp that says 42mm 316 Stainless Steel?
no other markings?

I'd also like to know if there's any other markings as well, if someone could answer this question that'd be awesome!

I'm hopefully going to be seeing a Link Bracelet at CEX at the weekend, so i'd like to know what to look out for before possibly handing over any money :)

Just to report back on my situation, the Link Bracelet was the genuine Apple bracelet, i bought it for £120 saving a whole £329 of the original Apple price!

There's a few small scratches on it that i'm sure i'll be able to sort out and all the links were included, so i'm very happy right now :)

If it's the regular SS bracelet, the nice thing is you can re-brush it if it gets too scuffed up. Just did my wife's the other week and it looks like new again. And it was really "worn" haha

What did you use to rebrush it?

I recently started doing so with the grey Scotch-Brite pads, which definitely helps but does not remove the deeper scratches (though it makes them less obvious in most lighting conditions). I know some use the green and it appears to be more aggressive. I have not purchased green pads yet.

I used the green ones. I did it while it was wet and not much pressure. I wish I took before and after pictures but didn't occur to me until I was pretty much done

Maybe I should get some green ones and then, after a few strokes with that, follow with the grey to refine a bit further (since I already have them).

Yesterday I worked on it with the grey pads, probably spending about 10 minutes on each half of the strap, with a fair amount of pressure and lots of repeated strokes. This is the result. You can still clearly see the deeper scratches, although in between those scratches the surface looks new, with a nice satin look and great consistency.

Give the green ones a try sometime. You may not even need to refine with the grey. Looking at the full-size photo of yours, there's still some light scuffs that were on my wife's as well. There were even some areas that looked shinier because of how worn it was. Here's a photo of my wife's after only the green.
