Yeah, it made me look at more real watches.

Me, too. Rekindled my interest in buying one of these...

Re alternatives

Interesting to see the spread of opinion.

For me, the apple watch is only an option if they can get three days or more of battery per charge with normal use. I don't believe for a moment that is realistic but I look forward to being proved wrong, and also having apple explaining to me exactly why it's better not to wear the watch at night anyway lol

Not a lot of love for the pebble steel here by the looks of things, which has surprised me.

After finally giving up on my Hot Smartwatch pre-order I picked up a Pebble Steel yesterday. So far I'm enjoying the notifications at a quick glance and some of the apps. The screen is jokingly low-res, it's the worst part of it and will hopefully be corrected in a 2nd gen product. Otherwise it's as advertised with a number of useful apps and an easy interface to master.

In the last 24 hours (including a full work day in dress clothes) no one has noticed it as anything different. I would bet that a regular Pebble would have stood out immediately, and not in a good way. The Steel looks like any other watch to most people.

That all said, I immediately want to reply to texts on my wrist with Siri every time I read one. I also want to answer calls on it. These features will probably be worth upgrading to the Apple Watch in due time.

You have to get past the cheap silicone band they include with the watch and replace it with a leather band. Completely changes the look and feel.

That's what I did. First I tried an all-black Martian Notifier with a black alligator strap.

Then I switched to the white & chrome Martian with a thick brown leather strap with white stitching:

Btw, it doesn't look that big in real life. It's the angle because I was trying to get the strap.

Actually the one I'm most interested in at the moment is Sony's Smartwatch 3. Hoping to see it in stores soon so I can test how big it actually is. But from the pictures I really like the design. I prefer the simplistic approach and I'm not that keen on round watches.

Well someone likes blueberries rather than strawberries, but.... i really cant believe they introduced sw3 as that on the picture after sw2. I dont like the design, it look childish. On the picture it looks rubberish and im only wondering is it made for swimmers... i have sw2 so no, not going to upgrade it to this one.
