Hi,

My Apple Watch Series 0 doesn’t want to charge after updating to watchOS 4. It’s connected to it’s charger and it is picking up that it’s connected, but the charge on the Watch isn’t increasing. I’ve tried three different power bricks and even bought a brand new charger from Apple. Nothing seems to work. I’ve already rebooted the Watch several times. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Isn’t that what its supposed to do?

Joking aside (as I’m sure you meant to say “decreasing”), it sounds like you might have to do a full reset/wipe of your Watch, but you might want to wait to see if anyone else has a better suggestion.

Hi Bryan,
Ment to say isn’t increasing. :)
Thanks for the suggestion. Will try it if all else fails.
Got it so charge up to 16% but now it’s decreasing and not charging again

Although it’s an inconvenience, hopefully a full wipe/reset will fix it and it is not your battery dying. Fingers crossed for you!

After doing quite a bit of digging, I found a post on the Apple Support Community pages where someone had a similar problem. They suggested removing the passcode from the Watch to get it charging again. This helped to get the Watch up to 63% but no further. I eventually un-paired and reset the Watch as you suggested which solved my problem. Thanks!

I am having this issue w/ my series 2 watch. I'm on watchOS 4.1. I have reset both the watch and my phone and restored from backup as well set both up as new. I took mine into Apple and they replaced the watch. I picked up my replacement last night AND IT'S DOING THE EXACT SAME THING!!!! Ugh!!! I'm going to try to pair to my mother's iPhone 6 to see what happens.

Have you tried disabling the passcode on the Watch?
I remember Apple did put a fix in for Series 0 and Series 1.... They may need to extend it to the Series 2 as well.
Just out of curiosity, is it a 38mm or 42mm Watch?

I haven't tried to disable to the passcode. I just paired the watch to my mother's iPhone 6 and it's working fine even w/ the passcode. Going to pair to my iPhone 7 again and see what happens. Will disable passcode if it goes back to not charging.

So I re-paired to my iPhone 7 and sure enough, it wouldn't charge. I disabled the passcode and it wouldn't charge. I turned off my phone and the watch charges (also charges with phone in airplane mode too). So I am 99.9% sure it's my phone is causing the issue somehow. Will be making an appt at the Apple Store for next weekend.
