Apple Watch Series 4 Screen Protectors?

Since series 0 I have had a Stainless Steel Apple Watch with Saphire Sceeen - not a scratch on the display.

Since Series 4 Stainless Models start at $699 and only come in cellular (which I don’t need) I opted for the Space Grey Alluminum.

The only thing I am worried about is scratch resistance.

Anyone see any Series 4 Screen Protectors out there yet?

I usually just bring mine to the Zagg kiosk in the mall that’s next to a Apple store. I think they sometimes have the screen protector for launch products on day 1.

I never cared for the Ion-X Glass scratch resistance, mine scratched easier than expected, Which is why I opted for the Stainless model. Amazon would be your best source, with Armor suit is a reliable brand. If they don’t have a screen protector available yet, they will soon enough with the specifications now Being available to third party manufacturers.

I've had a S0 from day 1, nary a mark on it, both the body and screen. I wouldn't bother with a screen protector,.

I’ve been wearing my Series 0 aluminum sport every day since July, 2015. Both case and display look new and I have never used a screen protector. Of course accidents happen, and my watch has taken knocks and scrapes that I fully expected to leave a mark if not a crack. So far so good. That doesn’t mean the next time won’t leaving permanent damage, so I guess it comes down to how risk averse you are. I use a case and screen protector for my iPhone, but not my watch. The watch is more exposed, but less likely to be dropped. It’s also a piece of jewelry that I don’t want to add anything to (although some screen protectors are close to invisible).

I did get AppleCare+ for my first Apple Watch, and it was the first time I ever purchased AppleCare. Might get it for the S4 as well, despite the fact Apple increased the cost of that service by 60% :mad:

I've had both Series 1 and Series 3 and both have gotten a couple of light scratches on the screen so will be opting for a screen protector.

Used (and liked) them both. The matte ones are not shiny the others mimic the screen face

Does anyone know when Zagg will be releasing screen protectors? I usually go with their plastic ones versus the glass ones and have never been disappointed. Reluctant to open my new 44 SBSS until I put a protector on it

So being that my go-to brand(Zagg) hasn’t made a screen protector yet for AW S4. And that I’m very picky on screen protectors, a cheap one off amazon that shows my fingerprints after a single tap will drive me insane. I’m in the market for a good quality glass screen protector. Zagg’s screen protector on my iPhone X feels like the actual iPhone glass.

So question is, any brands that AWS4 users can recommend? that they’ve used?

I know it just released but I’m trying not to scratch the Ion X glass when I receive my S4. My S0 Sport ended up scratched from a wood floor that my wrist moved across.

Bottom line: the best screen protection is Apple Care. Everything else has serious drawbacks - read on. As a guess, the newer AW series may be more scratch-resistant than the S0 (but YMMV on that).

I was concerned about this with my S3 at launch last year. In a year of use, neither I nor my wife scratched our S3 Sport Watches.

She ran hers naked for the full year.

I started with a good film/sticker protector and hated the feel.

I got the first Zagg glass version and promptly cracked it. Got a warranty replacement but was so unimpressed that I didn't reinstall it. BTW, although it felt like glass (duh?), the screen sensitivity definitely suffered.

When the curved glass Elite Zagg came out, I bought one of those. Same deal - sensitivity suffered, and it promptly got cracked.

At that point, I gave up and figured I'd rely on Apple Care if I cracked the screen, but it never happened.

my 2c., AppleCare+ on a Sport is not worth it. 79+Deductible means you're paying ALOT for a screen when the price of those will see decreases in 6 months (regular 50-75 off).

If you have SS, sure, AppleCare+ makes sense.

Otherwise, gamble it and see where you land.

I'm currently looking for the screen protector that made of a high quality glass - I know this will not cover from the edge to edge. still early days, I'll buy from amazon as long they have over 100 reviews with 5 stars rating.

I put the Armorsuit one on mine. Seems fine. Not sure if it will hold up in the pool, won’t know until next year. My first aluminum AW, I always bought the SS model. But I’m tired of the terrible resell value it has. Like you I hate screen protectors but the Armorsuit one isn’t bad. I just wipe the screen with my shirt like I did with the SS model.

Sadly I ordered my S4 through AT&T so they didn’t offer me an AppleCare option, but maybe I’ll look into it...

Maybe I’ll give that a shot! Just can’t stand a cheap feeling screen protector on a premium device. Takes away a bit from the fun.

I'll take a risk, no thank to Apple Care+ i rather save money via screen protector + case when they come out soon!

£89 and then each £49 excess fee:

Let say you broke three time a year that leave you £147+89+429 = £665 it wil quickly add up the figure.
