Best screen protector is Sapphire glass for sure but now that I have Aluminum S4 I bought Armorsuit since I don't trust how strong IonX glass really is.

Sadly I ordered my S4 through AT&T so they didn’t offer me an AppleCare option, but maybe I’ll look into it...

Maybe I’ll give that a shot! Just can’t stand a cheap feeling screen protector on a premium device. Takes away a bit from the fun.

You can definitely add it - but the time period is limited. I think it's 30 days, but the website will say. Last year, $49 for two years, was a no-brainer. This year is higher, but if you're concerned, this is the ultimate peace of mind.

And I will say again that my opinion and experience was the the stick-on film really changed the user experience, and even the two different models of the Zagg glass protector were not great (they felt like glass, obviously, but screen sensitivity was affected noticeably).

my 2c., AppleCare+ on a Sport is not worth it. 79+Deductible means you're paying ALOT for a screen when the price of those will see decreases in 6 months (regular 50-75 off).

If you have SS, sure, AppleCare+ makes sense.

Otherwise, gamble it and see where you land.

Remember that AppleCare+ isn't just a screen protection service. I had the microphone die on my series 2 last week, which was 7 days before my 2 year AC+ expired. I got it replaced no question, and also via Express Replacement so they sent me a new device out and I spent zero time without a device. I'm glad I had AC+ or I wouldn't have been able to sell my S2 as working.

At $79, you're probably right. At least, that's how I see it this year.

I'm currently looking for the screen protector that made of a high quality glass - I know this will not cover from the edge to edge. still early days, I'll buy from amazon as long they have over 100 reviews with 5 stars rating.

Yes I would also like glass screen protectors for the Apple Watch 4.

Please post any recommendations that you all may have.

I get that. But I don’t consider the aluminum version premium either as it kinda needs a screen protector and is really lightweight which loses that quality product feeling.
The SS model on the other hand. I’ve never put a screen protector on it and it still looked brand new when I turned it in and I always wiped finger prints off with my shirt. Even had it collide into a metal doorframe. It never scratched. I don’t expect the aluminum model to hold up to that on its own. I’m also tired of paying the premium price of the SS model every year.
Until the tech begins to peak and the annual upgrades aren’t so substantial. I think I’ll continue with the aluminum model. Can’t really tell until next year, but I’m happy with the aluminum model so far. The Armorsuit film screen protector is holding up and honestly it doesn’t even look like it’s there. I just happen to know it’s there because I put it on. I think you will be happy with it over those shield devices.

Complete waste of time, don’t bother - screen will be fine
[doublepost=1538263364][/doublepost]
I've had both Series 1 and Series 3 and both have gotten a couple of light scratches on the screen so will be opting for a screen protector.

Ditto for my Watch 2 which had several light scratches (but noticeable)

Not true. I was constantly hitting my watch against furniture as I passed by. Light scratches but annoyingly visible sometimes.

So, if you have Apple Care, you still pay the $79 and only save the $69? In essence, you'd need to replace 2x in order to get your money back if that's the case.

Don’t forget you also get protection for other mishaps that could cost a lot more. The screen protector is a much cheaperthan apple care if all you are worried about are scratches.

I know this is an old post, but this is wrong. It’s $199 for the Sport and $229 for the SS model to replace a cracked screen. Applecare+ is the only way to go. AppleCare always pays for itself sometimes many multiples of times over in a single incident.

I picked up the Zagg Glass Curve Elite for mine and while it looks awesome and is very sturdy the screen is now basically unusable. I'm really disappointed.

I use Skinomi and they’re fantastic. I’ll never understand the screen protector hate. For people who say “all you need is AppleCare,” are you active in the least? I mean, I’ve banged my watch off the door jamb doing laundry, not to mention that I also run, lift, do yoga where the watch face is sometimes on the floor, and play softball. I mean...I guess if you sit at a desk all day you’re good with no screen protector, LOL. That’s just not practical for many of us. My closest Apple store is 2 hours away too, so yeah, instead of having a near-invisible film on the watch, let’s let it get scratched up (which I don’t even think AppleCare covers) and then bank on sending it away for a repair that costs 12x as much as a six pack of screen protectors. Great advice LOL

I banged my S0 aluminum sport on all kinds of stuff over three + years, including lots of mountain bike rides where it was repeatedly wapped by trail brush at speed. No screen protector and no marks. I’m not anti-screen-protector. I actually have one on my iPhone X. I might even add one to my new S4, or maybe I won’t... it’s a tough display. AppleCare+ is worth it in my opinion whether or not you use a screen protector. A hit that can destroy a screen protector might damage the underlying display as well, and then there is the possibility something else will go wrong with the watch outside of the regular warranty period.

For the Skinomi Apple Watch screen protectors, are you supposed to wet them when installing?

FYI: Zagg now has a Glass Curve Elite screen protector for Series 4, with their signature lifetime warranty. I installed this on my 40mm. The installation is not hard even at home, or you can have it installed (I guess) at the local Zagg retailer.

I have struggled with several brands of wet application films and am so glad I don't need to do that anymore as it was PITA (edges would inevitably go within a week or two).

The obvious difference between Zagg and Amazon ones is - as far as I can tell - that Zagg has adhesive across whole screen when Amazon glass protectors have it only at the edges. There might also be fitment differences, not sure.

Jesus $40 for screen protector? No thanks Skinomi works great $8 for 4 pieces and so easy to install, I had mine installed for a few months now nothing lift off from edge. Zagg doesn’t look like it has good reviews.

Yes, it comes with wet spray tube. Watch their instruction video on YouTube. It was very easy for me to install I already did two watches, and corner sticks almost right away compared to other brand.
