Great, thankfully got to reserve a spot for the AASP. I also am thrilled that you have experience doing common hardware repairs of iPhones and Macs like batteries, changing out memory cards and screens. Also bumped into my Apple fan friend this morning and he also has a friend who does these things a lot; taken apart lots of Mac minis as well. I have never done a repair before but I am very proficient with troubleshooting Apple products software and hardware (without cutting open the iPhone or iPad). Installed IPSWs, done hacks and also when people are unsure if their Apple device needs repair i make every effort to rule out the issue and inspect it if it needs attention from a professional or Genius from an Apple Store.I’ll be able to take it to a repair place on the weekend and will post the results.
I’m better at taking apart Macs (I cobbled my first MacBook Air together with parts from a few different units) and can replace iPhone batteries but haven’t done a watch yet.
A diagnostic test for Apple Watch must be pushed out from the paired iPhone if it’s needed, but Apple diagnostics for watchOS is rare as the Apple Watch Series 7 and afterwards do not have a secret diagnostic port, which sits inside the bottom band slot.
