Yep. I recently picked up a Garmin Forerunner 965 and honestly I like it better (for my needs) than my AWU gen 1.So basically stick to my original AWU for another year.

There is nothing making people buy a watch every year, I upgraded from S8 to U2 mainly because I wanted a more rugged watch for hiking. Most likely I will not upgrade for another year or two.The ultra 2 was hardly an update. They really shouldn’t release watches yearly
A cheap watch is not going to last anything like an extreme sports or outdoor watchif you're buying a "traditional watch" that can only really tell the time then why not just use your phone to check the time lol. i thought the idea of a smartwatch was silly and i basically never wore a watch in my life until i got the apple watch. just buy a cheaper smartwatch lol you don't need to have the top line apple product.
The ultra is marketed as an outdoor watch but Apple know regular consumers will buy it because it’s got better features than the regular watch. The bulbous nature of it is due to it being designed to be rugged and have extra battery life compared to the S series. More about function than looks. So when a regular person wears it in normal situation, yeah it looks dumb. It’s like wearing a diving watch while going to work.i really hate the design of the Ultra watch. it looks so huge and ugly. good they are staying with OLED though.
i'll not be replacing my S9 any time soon but unless Apple fix the look of the Ultra then I'll be sticking with the S-series watch. i cringe whenever i see someone wearing one and luckily enough i don't think i've actually seen someone wear one irl lol. only youtubers and online aapl fanboys.
Funny you should say that. I have a Watch series 8 and tried on the Ultra at an Apple store a couple months ago. I loved the design. I'll be getting an Ultra this year. I don't care if other people think I'm a "fanboy". I like the look of the Ultra. I love the larger display and brightness.i really hate the design of the Ultra watch. it looks so huge and ugly. good they are staying with OLED though.

The Ultra is such a polarising watch it seems.Funny you should say that. I have a Watch series 8 and tried on the Ultra at an Apple store a couple months ago. I loved the design. you might want to try "farmer's walks" - quite effective exerciseGreat, this will give me another year to grow my wrist size.
/s
Yep will do the same. Its not making me lose my mind back when I had my S4 the yr the Ultra released. So basically stick to my original AWU for another year.
Tom, sorry to hear what you’re going through. Led the development of hemodialysis graft/fistulae stents to keep accesses from stenosing/occluding. If you’re getting hit with PTA balloons to open your access up on an increasingly frequent basis, might want to talk to your doc about it. They’ll stay open longer.Sitting here in dialysis at the moment, and heck yeah about the blood pressure monitoring, And I’ll have plenty of data to compare. I just bought an AW9 in Dec.2023 so I guess I’m gonna be wearing watches on both wrists.
Tom
It’s Applecared for 2 years, but oh well.

Samsung's rumoured 'Ultra' certainly is taking cues from the Ultra.
Honestly, I can't say I hate it given my preference to round watch faces.

BS1No new hardware upgrades but it will include blood pressure and sleep apnea tracking? Does that mean that the Ultra 2 should be able to do blood pressure and sleep apnea with software? Or will this be typical Apple saying it needs the new BS1 chip to do this?
