@Mak47

That post only served to show us your point of view.
There are a lot of people who want a tower desktop computer.
There are a lot of people who don't care for all-in-one slow overpriced shi.t.
There are a lot of people who like to change an HD/SSD easily, without having to remove a glass, a display and a lot of cables.
There are a lot of people who WANT A REASONABLE DESKTOP MAC, that isn't so powerful as the Mac pro and so slow as the Mac Mini.

The hole exists. Apple knows it, but they don't seem to give a sh.it.
I'm not feeling like giving money for Apple to continue building those poor and slow Mac Minis.
They suck. They're not good for heavy 3D modeling jobs, for heavy video editings, for gaming etc.
Also, the iMac is not a choice for a lot of people. Not because of price, but how hardware capped it is.
People already have a monitor. People don't care if the display of iMac costs 1.000 dolars alone.

Whatever. Apple has it's specific market aimed. They don't seem to want to expand it's market share.
They sell not only computers, but a brand.

As for me, I don't care. I won't buy neither a Mac Mini nor a Mac Pro. I want the middle term. If Apple doesn't want to give me that, another company wants to.
Windows 7 and Mac OS X are both good for me. I have no preference, seriously.

If that's the case, I wonder why you waste time posting on this forum. If I truly didn't care whether I used wintel or Mac, I certainly wouldn't be here.

A lot of geeks, yes. A lot of the general population, I don't think so.

If you're talking about the iMac, it's neither slow nor overpriced. But kudos on getting through the swear filter.

The mini is MORE than enough machine for the vast majority of consumters.

Are you serious??? You're trying to do "heavy 3D modeling" and "heavy video editing" on a mini? No kidding, it's not made for that. Get a Mac Pro!

Buy a windows machine, seriously.

I have only bought and used Macs. For 18 years. But with the gap that Apple doesn't seem to care about I'm not sure I'll be using Macs for a 19th year.

If Apple doesn't care about losing long time users I guess I shouldn't either.

Wait. Am I in a forum which objective is to worship Apple?
I understand...

Lame comments, never seen so many in a unique place.

I've had 2 MacBooks, 1 iPad and 1 iPod touch (1st gen).
Sold them all because none satisfied me.

I like products, but you intelligent people seem to like brands.
That's all Apple is about, right?

Your last sentence has become far too true. Sad really windows has finally put a decent os out and apple has decided to build little toys for people on the run. Of course if you have stock in apple for the last ten years it is not too sad. But for a mac user like myself oh well.

Apple is making money as fast as they can stack it with their current strategy. Good for them, but it sucks for us long time users. For the first time in 20 years I'm thinking of Windows. I wish there was a new competitor to Apple that made hardware. Apple is going the way of Adobe, a formerly cool company that is now a money-grubbing purveyor of expensive bloatware. Sad, but true.

Like you, I think it's silly that Apple doesn't offer a headless mid-Mac. With the right specs and price, I'd buy one in a second. For instance; an iMac with no screen, in a case that can be opened for upgrades, for about $1099.

As a Mac user for 22 years, I've probably owned two dozen Macs for home and business and have been satisfied with nearly all of them. Some I didn't keep as long as others, but I was still satisfied. I have lots of Mac software so I really, really don't want to switch to Windows, regardless of how good Win 7 might be.

My previous point in response to yours was; if I TRULY didn't care whether I used Mac or Windows (as you said) I wouldn't be hanging around here saying how I think Apple should do this or that, I would just buy wintel computers from now on and forget about Apple. No offense to you was intended.

To each their own. I do my share of complaining about Apple. They're far from perfect.
