Do the new models just have easier-to-replace screens or what? The price difference seems pretty arbitrary otherwise. 😅

I wonder if they have stronger glass (ceramic shield?). I don’t know if Apple has ever advertised the iPads as having ceramic shield, which debuted in iPhone in 2020.

I prefer the monthly over the 2 year. No chance to let it lapse, and you can cancel the subscription as soon as you sell the device to someone or trade it in. $35 bucks more over 2 years vs the 169 on iPP 13, but I like the convenience.

Same—now that AC+ can be indefinite, unless you are very good at setting alarms in the future and re-upping it, it's better to lock it in. Hopeful that it being indefinite means I can keep some of my devices longer.

Nothing wrong with your choice but Apple notifies the user of the 2 year plans expiration 60 days in advance, with the option to extend month to month. It shows up in the settings app. One could miss it I guess if they are prone to ignoring prompts from Apple to update software/icloud/etc.

They’re lowering the prices now to boost sales of AC+ for the new models, and increase prices again in 1-2 years when you may actually need a replacement.

Don’t normally get Apple Care on my devices but wondering if I should this time since I opted for the nano screen. 🤔

I wager the screens are now repairable on these new iPads. In the past, they weren’t repairable so you would pay a $49 fee (if you pay for AC+) and they would swap the entire device. Accidental damage without AppleCare+ cost $699 for that same device replacement. Considering how expensive these iPad Pros are I find AppleCare+ to be a no-brainer decision.
