It’s not the end of the world for me if I’m missing out on this, but just curious…when it comes to the rain or snow animations, is anyone seeing them “hit” the info box on iPhone 11?

I’m guessing it’s a bug, so I’ll get a report going on it, because it is the only “A12 Bionic or higher” feature I’m not seeing. Just curious though if anyone else is missing out on it on the 11.

Still showing sunset background despite sunset being an hour ago and it being pitch black now.

A couple of nice details, when it is sunny, the app is still animated and the lens flair moves across the screen. The sun also is positioned across the top of the screen depending on what time of day it is. Someone already mentioned sunrise and sunset colors. The included map let's you easily switch between temp, precipitation and air quality.

Sorry for ignorance, what exactly this info means?

1 and 3 - this is the lowest and highest temperature, right?
And what is 2?
Additional question: what the white dot means in the graphic 2?

Thanks!

The line represents the range of temperature for that day and also the position of the line represents the relative scale of that range to the other days.
You can see that "today" and "Thursday" are relatively the same in length and position in the chart.

The white dot represents the current temperature on that scale...in this case, 58-degrees along the line between 49 and 72.

The more I use this, the more I found it useful for seeing how the week will be.

49° is the recorded (or forecast) low, 72° is the recorded (or forecast) high, and the white dot is the current temperature, within that range. The colors range from cold to hot (blue to red) and extend the length of the difference between the low and the high. If it's overcast and the difference between the high and the low will be 10°, the color bar will be relatively short. If the overnight low and the daytime high are quite different, the color bar will be longer. The left side of the available space for the colored line is the lowest forecast temperature in the 10-day period, and the right side is the highest forecast temperature. So at a glance, I can see that the current temperature is right in the middle of the forecast high/low temperatures for the next ten days, and that there aren't any significant temperature swings in the forecast.

I just installed the public beta pretty much exclusively to check out the weather app. It's quite nice and probably a solid replacement for what I'm using now. My one wish (so far) would be for an option to set the default map to be displayed. Currently it defaults to the temperature view, which I don't find very useful. I'd much rather have it default to precipitation or Doppler radar.

It will change based on the weather...if rain is expected or nearby, it will show that map instead. I'm sure "temperature" is showing up for many people (in the USA at least) due to the heat waves we have been having.

Ahhhh that makes sense and is pretty cool. And yes it’s hot as hell.

One item I have noticed lately is the accuracy. Not for the better.
If I choose My Location I get one set of data. If I choose then name of the city I get another. Understandable as a city can have varying weather. Problem is that when viewed, the accuracy is reversed. The city matches my weather while the My Location matches the city (downtown) more than my actual location.

I noticed this sometime during the testing for iOS15 beta.

Hope this gets fixed.

Outside of that, it is working well.

Attention to detail would be them putting a flipping space after the colon on the high and low temps for the day.

Or, how about they stop redesigning things just for the sake of and wasting space in the process. I went from being able to view seven hours and seven days of the forecast all on the same screen to now only seeing five hours and five days. (I hate these stupid tile/platter things!)

Agree that I’d want to see precipitation map by default, and I don’t care about a temperature map ever.

Would be nice it it were at the top as well, like in dark sky. They could even put it under the info at the top. Or at least let us reorder the main weather page.

Would be nice if the daily forecasts could be tapped for more info.
