Now we have to cater to the technically illiterate elderly? lol, your argument is incoherent. Not to mention that it's a stereotype. And YELLING just makes you seem unhinged.
Good for you. Why is the number of people you know, interesting or a relevant data point for this discussion?
Nope. We "all" don't.
iPad Pro would never be a true computer in its current form, without wide range professional software support, for example, matlab, many specialized engineering software etc. . This has been stated by various users In various posts in this forum already.
Idk the future though. Maybe it would change a little bit.
By this point, the 12" MacBooks only moving part is its hinge. You have to admit that Apple does have courage in that they are planning to step away from the computer market, where they have made billions.
The New Apple World is everyone staring into little iScreens at Apple movies, Apple Rap, Apps, emojis and stickers, social media, all streaming in from the cloud. These devices will be darling and elegant, pairing well with man bags and hoodies alike. Computers are just so...industrial and have moving parts, ick, and cannot accessorize anything at all.
I agree with this. However; until the iPad can code iOS apps (which would be sweet), it can't exist without the Mac line. Until then, iOS and the iPad will always be a companion device. I guarantee if it stays that way, the older generation of which main career is not technology based or development dies out, the iPad line will not be used as a main computer without proper improvement.I don't get this train of thought.
So since it doesn't work for a certain subset of users, its not a really computer? I'm sure a MacBook Air wouldn't work for a graphic design professional, but it's still a computer.
The iPad Pro is most certainly a very capable computer for many people. Just because its not FOR YOU doesn't make it less viable for others.
My Air 2 is my computer. This really depends on the person, for me all I really do is web browsing, email, social media and video consumption. My life style/work does not demand that I edit documents or write papers at this point.
If that changes then I will get a macbook.
I tried out an iPad pro at the store and I was impressed with how accurate the pencil is when you write. It truly is like a piece of paper and great for notes.Exactly, it depends on the user. For me the iPad is the tablet/computer/laptop, call it what you want, for the go. I mainly use my workstation at home for serious work. I don't need a seperate laptop on the go. The iPad is good enough for taking notes, even working with MS Word, watching movies, browsing etc. In fact I bought a MBP in 2015 but sold it a few months later because it ended up laying around in my room. It was too good to just be used once in a while so I decided to give it to a new owner.
Right now I have an old laptop which I barely use because I do not have an iPad at the moment. Sold my 1st Gen. mini to wait for the new Pro models. If I have an iPad back at my hands, I don't think I am going to use my laptop anymore. But thats for now, there might be a time, maybe work related, where I want/need a protable computer again.
