Give me a break. It's not "abuse" to jack up prices almost 50%?

Try to justify it any way you want, you're still abusing the Educational discount.

If my son will use the computer for his editing projects at school, what's the problem? He doesn't have a credit card at 15.

Apple's Educational discount is available to College students -or- Teachers, Administrators, or Staff. Parents can use the Educational discount to buy a system for their child, but only if the child is attending college. The educational discount does not extend to high school students.

I'm a board member. And, as a board member.. I get a discount. I actually didn't even realize that until after I ordered it.

Either way, even if I wasn't a board member, I'll be honest.. I'd still take my chance, and would have used the discount. Why should some people get the discount, and not others? That's not fair. I'd say it's fair if military personal got it, because they should.

If you're a School Board member, then yes you qualify. Good to know after the fact!

As for why some people should get the discount, but not others, it called giving something back to college students, teachers, and some public servants (for example, military personnel do get a discount). If everyone got the discount "just because", then it wouldn't be a discount. It would just be the normal price.

I don't know how much more the educational discount is but the military as well as gov't employees get a discount. The bummer is that Apple recently revised their discount policy. It only pertains to Apple branded products and not any third party hardware or software applications they carry. I used to get a discount on almost anything I bought at the Apple store or online.

I know what you mean! Heck, I fake a limp so I can board airplanes early. I tell the folks at the soup kitchen that I'm homeless and I get free meals. It's awesome. Why should disabled people and poor people get special treatment?
