How is that different then the blind fanboyism that seems rampart at times.

Well, considering this site is called MacRumors some bias is expected. But no, it's no different. But a lot of people here fight Apple fanboyism by being blindly anti-Apple and act like that is not just as biased.

I think you can be a fanboy and not check your logic and common sense at the door of MR. There are members here that cannot and will not except the fact that at times apple can and does makes mistakes.

I think the problem lies in the fact that as soon as one digs their heals into the sand on a topic, the other does the same. We're at a point now that when LTD posts something there are folks that come into his thread just to refute his claims.

They aren't my claims.

In this case they're those of Net Applications, based on their monitoring of about 40,000 sites.

Lots of news sites reference it as the source of their browser and OS usage share reports. We often see them on the MR front page, posted by someone else.

I agree with that. But being blindly against Apple isn't any better and a lot of people here seem to think that they're being less biased by blindly supporting any Apple competitors.

While you don't have to be 100% pro Apple to enjoy this forum why come to an Apple fan forum and disagree with everything pro Apple that is posted here?
While *LTD* might be very biased towards Apple I don't think he goes to Android forums and disagree with everything that is posted there. But that is what some members here do to anything positive about Apple.

No, you're a hater because you irrationally post against Apple all over the site. Post away, I likes me some entertainment.

Thank you..... Gzzzz, can he/she say fanboy or worship anymore.

It's a common misconception that those of us who disagree with the majority are just coming to an Apple forum to bash Apple. When I came to MR ages ago - way before the iPhone, I was an Apple fan. But times have changed, Apple has changed, I'm no longer the fan I once was. I don't agree with many of Apple's decisions now and I prefer their competition in certain areas. That doesn't mean I don't like the community here at MR any less.

There's a difference in disagreeing with Apple and what the Apple haters do, just like there's a difference between the blind fanboys and others who like Apple's products.

Sorry. I will fight stupidity wherever I find it.

I am a fan of Apple products, but not Apple and I think Steve Jobs is a douche. That does not make my MacBook Pro less useful to me (nor my iPhone or my iPad). However, it pisses me off to no end to see narrow-mindedness like the one displayed by *LTD*. He has his right to an opinion, no doubt about that. But I have my right to fight that opinion whenever I feel up to it.

IT ISN'T. THAT'S HIS POINT.

I agree with you completely. Add in the fact this is an apple forum and that makes threads and discussions likely to down in flames.

I don't think it's possible for a website to distinguish between iPhone and iPod Touch so I believe it's aggregated under iPhone.

It is possible to distinguish iPhone from iPod touch. I don't know if the websites do it, or the survey does it, but it's definitely possible.

Safari Web Content Guide : Optimizing Web Content
The parts of the Safari on iOS user agent string are as follows:

(iPhone; U; CPU iOS 2_0 like Mac OS X; en-us)
The platform string. iPhone is replaced with iPod when running on an iPod touch and iPad when running on an iPad. [underline added]

I'm not saying you can't, I'm not saying people can't disagree with Apple. I'm saying that there are a lot of people are that are just as biased about being against Apple as there are people that are 100% pro Apple.

But to be fair while *LTD* is very biased, and I don't agree with everything he posts, he's not going to Android and Windows forums (as far as I know) and disagree with everyone there and try to cause trouble. But there are a lot of people here that all they do is disagree with everything pro-Apple that is posted and try to create arguments.

Exactly.

Haha I love the "just got a new toy for Christmas!" spike.

Interesting that usage drops off a noticeable amount after that, I wonder if there would be similar trends with other similar products too?

I don't know if he roams Android forums with his fanboyisms, but I think those cases are extremely rare with us too. Almost everyone here is an Apple user, to expect blind loyalty (do a damn brand, no less) for that shouldn't be a requisite to be allowed to discuss here (and I don't think you think it should be).

If people come here just to bash Apple, they should get a life. Really.

Correct but he has good grammar and can actually spell, unlike RP.

He probably isn't dyslexic. Unlike RP.

It ALL makes sense now. Hmmm..

Errr, um, yes... On with the thread!

It has gotten better over the years as I had to write more and honestly posting on forums helps keep it from getting too out of hand has it someone keeps the skills and tricks I use to cover it up sharp but even there it has its limits. On forum boards I do not do the walk away and go back and read it over a few minutes later like I will do with email

If you noticed the grammar mistakes are normally suffix bases and I know my most common on deal with the letter 's' not being there.

Spelling I relay very heavily on a spell checker but if it does not underline a word or I miss red line it is going to get posted. I know on quick read over I miss those mistakes from like grammar because my brain will put them in so it is never missed. Anyone else would catch it very quickly but in how my brain adapted to dealing with dyslexia it misses them because I know my brain relays much more heavily on patterns than most people so when I read I tend to go to what the pattern says it should be not what is really there.
