Oh, yeah, the M series are soo been-there-done-that.This is why Apple doesn’t innovate anymore. They’ve gotten so lazy they named their chipsets after Gillette Razors.
The 13” MBP needs to count its blessing that it’s still alive. But you’re right, if it’s a ‘Pro’…it should get an M Pro chip.Seems dumb the 13” MBP can’t get a “Pro” version of the Mx chip.
Show of hands: Who can live without the Touch Bar?For people saying that the 13-inch MacBook Pro should go away, just remember some people like the Touch Bar and not everyone likes the designs of the newer MacBook Pros especially with the notch. The only thing they should really change is the bezel size, but the overall design looks way better than the newer MacBooks.
Someone else pointed out that the M1 Ultra has been replaced by the M2 Ultra. I'll add that the M1 (no modifier) should be on that list because the M1 MBA is still available.Apple is still on the M2, M2 Pro, M2 Max, and M1 Ultra line of chips
It is probably going to be the iMac since that has been awhile and is still on M1 if M3’s come out this year.If the new M3 series Macs appear in 2023, I'll be pleasantly surprised.
Eventually they will probably start rendering 3D text in the menu bar and icons in the dock/desktop in real time just to tax the processors enough to justify killing support for older models.I have the feeling that once I upgrade to an M3 or M4, I’m not going to need a more powerful machine for any of my tasks… but I know Apple will cut macOS support after 6 or 7 years.
Eh it'll probably be RAM that does it for these systems as they get older. These chips are so ludicrously powerful that I'd be shocked if the CPU/GPU capabilities became the bottleneck first.Eventually they will probably start rendering 3D text in the menu bar and icons in the dock/desktop in real time just to tax the processors enough to justify killing support for older models.
(In actuality it’ll probably be AI/machine learning features that do these 3nm chips in)
You can certainly live without it. But some people prefer having Touch Bar over function keys and some prefer function keys over Touch Bar. It is purely personal preference.Show of hands: Who can live without the Touch Bar?

Comes with Mac OS Skynet😁The M5 Macs will be self-aware.
I have to disagree with you guys, I think 8GB is becoming too constraint especially on Apple Silicon where the RAM is shared with the entire SoC. The times I’ve tried an M2 MacBook Air, it was pretty easy to get into the yellow memory compression zone. And pushing it a bit more it started swapping like crazy.
I honestly think Apple should upgrade the base memory to 12GB.
Agree, I need 2 monitors. This is the only missing feature preventing me of buying a new MacBook. I do not need the bigger more expensive MacBook Pro. I'll have to switch sides in the coming 2 years if no MacBook is released with multi monitor support. This would be nice.
