To be honest, is a very deceptive roadmap, basically again many years behind the concurrence. Samsung Z-Flip was released 5(!!!) years ago. With the planned release in 2028, would make 8 years behind. That's terrible for a company like Apple, that used to be years ahead of the rest in the past. RIP Apple innovation.

But I do think that the folded vertical probably is the one that makes sense. However I'm a bit worried about the sentence "Apple is said to see the device as a light luxury, fashion-oriented model" which smells very expensive and focused on aesthetics.

I am most excited for the 20th anniversary model. It sounds like it‘s shaping up to become a huge and iconic milestone like the X was. Introducing a radical new design and new technologies like under screen Face ID and cameras. The foldable iPhone doesn‘t sound too shabby either although I am still in doubt about its long-term practicality and durability.
What should I change my 14 Pro Max for, a foldable or the 20?
I am wondering the same thing.

It would be better if Apple engaged with users and asked them what they want, rather than assuming they know everything. This could be another calamity like the iPhone Air.

I can confidently say that I've reached the point where I'm too old to really care.

Got "upgraded" from a 12 Pro to a 16e and it was very much a lateral move.

And I'm STILL mad that half the apps on my 2025 frakkin' iPhone don't work in landscape, like they did on my Samsung TEN YEARS AGO.

Dammit, Apple, at least the Music app!

PLEASE!!

Apple was three years behind the first MP3 player, thirteen years behind the first smartphone, and seven years behind the first blackberry.

Maybe they should focus more on business practices and competition law at the moment?
Oh and yeah, release a new mini!

A sphere, with just one thunderbolt port on the lower curve (which will cause it to tip if you don't use a very special Apple-supplied short-plug limp thunderbolt cable), and the power button is recessed in the centre of the fractionally flattened base.

When designing a product for nearly 1.1 billion consumers, you must engineer the OS and the device in such a way that it somehow overwhelms the buyers. Such a large country also has its own engineers and designers who understand the usage culture and can communicate with the users.

The US population over 16 years old is just 285.4 million, which is four times less than that of China. There's a high chance that Apple doesn’t communicate with the Chinese consumer base, just as it is evident that Apple doesn't engage with the US consumer base. So, how can they win this race? The future looks bleak for Apple, even with their "Stockholm Syndrome" followers.

It's gonna take a lot more than a blog post or two to get me to believe that Apple under Tim Cook is going to flip the script and radically diversify its portfolio of iPhones. If they set their per-model sales targets lower a la Samsung I could be convinced. For now there's no evidence of this happening.

I genuinely don’t get the appeal of foldable phones, to me it’s regression. Flip phones were popular before the first iPhone was announced. If you want a big screen get the PM, or an iPad Mini. Really don’t get foldables and think it’s a gimmick most normal people won’t buy, especially if it costs $1,500+.

I am interested in the 20th anniversary iPhone, and my upgrade history works out nicely so that my next upgrade will be in time for it (I upgrade every two years). Hope they find a way to put FaceID under the screen to do away with the Dynamic Island!

Put the ProMax in landscape Safari and ask yourself if a double height screen would be nicer.

Agh the same old rumor with a new twist
2027. Before it was 2026. And the beat goes on. When you see it you can believe it. Apple notorious for changing its mind

I'll keep my 13 Mini as long as it functions on the cellular networks.

But you can keep your phablet 👍
I don't have tiny hands so it doesn't feel like phablet to me. Just feels like a regular phone with a nice big beautiful screen for me to enjoy my content on.

Lol it's time to let it go.….. the mini crowd is just getting sad now

I'm definitely holding on to my 16PM until the 20th anniversary iPhone... All screen sounds great!
No need to put anyone down here. You have your preferences and Mini lovers have theirs. Apple will do whatever they want either way.
