A company that aligns itself to a "mission statement" is basically saying it is not willing to be flexible enough to change, adapt, innovate, or invent anything outside of the prescribed mission statement.

I was under the impression that mission statements were considered a bad thing these days. I don't believe Apple has one.


So... You think that "Her ongoing mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life forms and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before" is a bad thing, because with this statement even the dumbest person on board knows exactly what the mission is all about and can always act accordingly because he has a proper basic guideline?


Or this one: "At Microsoft, our mission and values are to help people and businesses throughout the world realize their full potential." I think there's a lot of flexibility in that statement and enough room to change, adapt, innovate and invent.

There is at least one target group missing in Apple's mission statement: BUSINESSES. That target group is explicitly mentioned in Microsoft's mission statement, and there you have the first major difference between the two companies.

Read Tim Cook's comments. Watch the Steve Jobs video from years ago when he talks of MS' third-rate products. Watch it on YouTube. You immediately know where Apple's priorities lie.

But really, the *real* mission becomes apparent when you use Apple products. It becomes very clear what Apple's vision is. No need for words. The product differentiation alone speaks volumes.

Apple’s vision


"Man is the creator of change in this world. As such he should be above systems and structures, and not subordinate to them."

This is the apple company's vision persons who are not finding it,this is a great help for u from my side.

i would like to know atleast if there is some link(site) r conference which published this vision statement??

I doubt you'll find one.

They don't need to write them down.

Just use Apple products and Apple's mission statement becomes apparent.
